Hey Emno I looked at your mdapps. What school are you at in GA? In PhiDe?

I wouldn't say addicted...I definitely check excessively at work while I'm bored though

I was on here way too much during application season. I was just so interested in comparing numbers, making plans, desperately trying to figure out if I would get in. It was an outlet for a lot of nervous energy. ^.^ Since everything's over I check back in maaaaaybe once a day, if that.

UGH ... count me in. I think it falls under the category of an addiction - nearly 7k posts in a few years, sometimes I despise the site but come against my better instincts (i.e. I can't help it), come multiple times a day, etc, etc.

Altogether, this is a great site, and I don't think I would have been able to make it into medical school without it ... but damn, it is addictive.

You should donate with me Jag. The rest of all you addicted people should too. Want to each go gold?

I'd say I'm addicted. Even my girlfriend knows about people on here: JaggerPlate, Bacchus, Chocolate Bear, EMT2ER-DOC, Cheshyre, etc.

Yeah I'm gonna donate before school starts ... I owe it to em! How much is gold?

I'm addicted as well...

It helps me procrastinate studying for an MCAT retake I have no idea if I'm even going to take (still waiting on scores from the initial).

I actually don't like this forum at all because it is filled with so much negativity and pessimism (oh and cynicism, a whole bunch of that). The reason I am on here tho, is because, despite the bad, there is really a lot of good information on here, you just have to have thick skin to find it.

Addicted to SDN? Count me in.

Why? Because I stopped enjoying cocaine, and I have an addictive personality.

Yep. I'm addicted. I get disappointed when there is no new posts on here and discussion about something or someone to give advice to lol I spent so many hrs on here gathering knowledge last year while applying I feel good helping spread that knowledge later on

SDN is right next to my facebook link, so I guess I am addicted too..

It's a nice place to learn different perspectives FAST

Very addicted to a point where my wife gets occationally annoyed. For that reason, I try to minimize the page everytime she walks by (like if I were watching porn).

However my reasoning for this addiction is that my stats aren't great, and everytime I read someone with worse numbers that mine makes it to med school I get motivated to study harder and not give up.

lol priceless!

I am sitting in front of the computer from 9 to 6 because of my summer job, so I tend to post a lot more these days. Still, I can't seem to beat 4 or 5 posts per day. There is a limit to all this pre-med stuff I can tolerate.

Yes I am one of the addicted people on this site. I haven't shut my sdn page in over a year on my iPhone. All I do is hit reload, even though I might not post as much like others I am among those who are always reading the responses.

Haha, I thought I was the only one that does this! My husband gets annoyed when I get on here at home... But it makes me feel better about this application cycle, plus, I love love love giving advice... 🙂 There has to be a reason that I have had to apply three times! I think the reason is that I was meant to help others with all of this useless information I have gained from being a veteran at this horrible process.

How does she not know me?

Who gives a damn about that Jagger kid

lol priceless!

I thought there was something greasy associated with minimizing. I felt so 'sinful' doing it. When the misses would walk by, much to my chagrin, I would find myself staring at my desktop as if I were interested in the intricacies of my lake view wall paper .

Hi everyone, I'm ManUnderFire and I'm addicted to Sdn (since 2001!)

Hey ManUnderFire,

any chance MTL is abbreviation for Montreal?

how lame is this?:
i am trying to sleep in my car with half my body in the trunk at a national park hoping to be near the front of the line to get some backcountry permits for the weekend and instead of focusing on needed sleep i am on sdn on my phone. it still doesnt deter my anger for the two people already in line taking all the permits for tbe area i wanted. oh well, now i get to check sdn and sleep a little before getting in line for different permits that are easier to obtain but still very enjoyable areas.

Is there an iphone/ipod SDN app? That would curb my anxiety SLIGHTLY, but realistically, would only feed the addiction. I know it's unhealthy and my girlfriend definitely knows I frequent this site, and have over the past few years. It makes you neurotic, especially if you are applying.

it's called Tapatalk!
