Just thought I'd put out there how excited I am that I'm going home tomorrow!!! Yay! AND I even get to fly first class (here's to frequent flyer miles)!!

Umm ... should we maybe put our sdn names on our nametags or something? I'll be the tall preppy blonde girl though ... 🙂

Plans for friday -- I hope everyone who is going (we lost a few people to Davis/Penn it seems) still wants to get together! I have to admit, I'm more of a roll with the punches kind of girl, so I was thinking we could pow-wow and make the where/when decision at the open house. If you go to the fb group, they are planning on getting together too, so I invited them to our get together -- and the way we are going, we'll have practically half the class going (and then some c/o 2011-ers too!)

SO .... yeah. I could make formal plans, but I would like to have everyone who wants to come, come, so I was thinking to wait. Essentially, I'll be that girl who makes an announcement saying "So, if anyone wants to go out and drink tonight, please meet me sketchily in the back so we can make plans". 🙂


yay wi! oh, and I am going to have a cute little patio from my condo, on which I will have a nice grill, and really am looking forward to hosting class bar-b-q's because I have a backyard-type-thing. Doesn't that sound super fun? Don't I sound like a super sorority girl. ahh ... at least I can laugh at myself.

5 mins later: after some quality stalking, i think i found you ... but do you not have a picture?? that's breaking a fb rule!?! (j/k, but have you seen that fb rule group? HILARIOUS!)

I'm sure that there will be a diverse age range -- just keep in mind that not a lot of people who graduated more than 5 years ago are on facebook. Cute dog, ps. Now I'm going to go friend you.
 
No worries, Rebeki, I promise I am older than you. I looked at the pictures on the FB group and everyone looks so young and shiny. I miss my ill-spent youth 🙂
 
I will join the group as soon as I make my decision! Congrats WI girl:clap::bow::bow::bow::bow: I plan on making my descion after this weekend. I also am an older student so Rebeki will not be the only one.

Can't wait to meet everyone in person.
 
So since the weekend is supposed to be snowing and ~30 I am leanning toward snow boots, jeans and a nice blouse or oxford shirt. Any one else have suggestions. I am leaving today at noon to fly out so I'll probably be obsessively checking this forum.+pity+Had to use that smilie at least once 😆😆

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post earlier cows -- I was flying myself! I'm going to wear my ugg moccasins (fuzzy insides!) jeans and one of my numerous oxford shirts. I essentially live in them. I may go crazy and even put a sweater over -- and then I'll bundle up in my big amazing north face parka that I ADORE.

Anyhow, on the off chance that you check this before dressing tomorrow.

Oh missed that notice at the top. I will be wearing dark jeans, a light gray hat, dark gray overcoat, black dress shoes, and a striped oxford. Can't wait to see everyone.
 
Ahhhh! Sorry guys, I didn't make it to the get together! My mom's flight came in late, and I got up to the school on the later side -- and no one was around! 🙁 But it's kinda a good thing, I REALLY need to work on this thesis ... but it was great meeting those of you I met at the open house, and hopefully I see you next year!

So how was the open house!? Did you guys have fun? They're all super nice, aren't they? 🙂
 
They are all super nice. They all might also be out with first years right now, except me, who missed them and am now working on my thesis. boo.

But the open house was AMAZING! I can't get over that the walls in the anatomy lab are like sky blue -- so happy! Not at all dark and such! I loved the vibe I got from the students as well. And, of course, the staff was amazing. I actually met one of the two profs who did my file review; he was super nice, asked me how my research was going, asked me if I had made my decision, and when I said I had (WI!) he goes, "so you'll shake on that and I'll see you next fall?" and I said yup and shook his hand. Also met the emeritus dean, who was great, pulled out a bunch of cornell jokes when he found out my alma mater!


Really, I couldn't look for more in a vet school -- ambiance, vibe, commitment to the students ... I am in love. 😍You were totally right VAgirl -- its the perfect place for me! Even the weather was beautiful, a balmy 42 degrees.

I can't wait to be there next year! Even saw a few cute guys in my class -- of course, we are to NEVER date w/in the class, but nice wallpaper is always a plus!
 
I am really glad to hear you're so enthusiastic. I liked WI a lot, but now that I have a really great in state option that also works out well for my fiance, it just doesn't make sense to leave. You guys will love UW! And I thought the sky blue anatomy walls were beautiful too. NCSU also has a "homey" feeling anatomy room, I was happy to see.

Wow what a day! Sorry I didn't get a cahance to meet most of you. I did manage to meet Pika8 while going on the farm visit. We had actually met previously at U penn interview but hadn't realized the sdn connection. Well maybe I'll see you of facebook I'm now almost definitely going to UWMadison. It is just hard to make the final decision especially when U Tenn was so nice also. But the Dairy opportunities at U Wisconsin seem to be better. 😱 And when I finally decide it means I have a ton of other thing I need to start making arrangements for. I'm starting tofeel overwhelmed already.
 
Actually I got strange looks from a couple of people when I asked if they were on SDN. Oh well. I'll be known as the strange girl already. LOL
 
Ahhhh!! 🙂 My flight out of madison last night got canceled, so I finally was driving from syracuse to ithaca, and I got a call from admissions --- they want to offer me a $3000 scholarship for this next year! wow!! How could I even begin to turn that down? IS tuition at UW (super cheap to begin with) with more knocked off?!?! ahhhhhh! I'm so excited!!

Sidenote: Its fairly obvious that UW doesn't have anyone on the adcom here, or if they did, they have NO IDEA who I am, or they wouldn't be trying so hard to make me go there -- they'd already realize that I'm their SLAVE! 🙂
 
congrats Wi Girl! I was accepted at U Tenn today so now I have to make a decision. I really like both school, but am leaning more toward Wisconsin, I am just finding it hard to make it a final choice. :scared:
 
Hey everyone, I don't think I actually got to meet any of you - unless you were in group 5? Anyone?

Everyone I met was so nice...I really can't wait to start classes now! (I'm sure that will wear off about 1 month into it though😛)

Unfortunately, I have agreed to relinquish full custody of my son (dog) to my husband who will be staying in NY. I may get a persian kitty to console me.

We also put in an offer on a condo😀

(a) Rebeki -- where did you offer? just wondering if its in the same neighborhood as me -- apparently one of the condos in my building had an offer put on it recently.

(b) Thanks for the congrats cows --- and congrats to you on UT-K! Let us all know when you figure out your decision! Let me know if there are any questions regarding madison as a city that you would like answered!

Anyway, the condo is in "Hilldale Village" Behind the Hilldale shopping center on Segoe Rd. Kind of iffy looking on the outside, but new on the inside. My husband and I loved the Hilldale area. Is this near you wi girl?

We had a great agent if anyone else is considering buying and needs some help with the area.

And - A Big Congrats on the Scholarship!!!

The one on the top of the letter -- 2015 Linden . It's also the address that is FAINTLY stamped on the upper left corner of the bi yellow envelope

Did any of you get an email from UW with an Invitation to Enroll in courses? I don't really think that would apply to us, would it? Plus I don't have the ID info they are talking about.😕
 
Everyone gets the invitation to enroll in classes and yes, it applies to you (just not yet). Student services will send you an e-mail with all of the class numbers you need to enroll. As for the NetID, do you know your student ID number yet? Once you get that, you can go to https://www.mynetid.wisc.edu/activate to activate it. That'll give you a UW e-mail address as well.

There's no huge rush, because classes aren't going to fill up without you. You can sign up during orientation or when they send you the email.
