So, it was my turn to audition. I give my aria to the pianist. The piece starts with an a capella bit that absolutely must end in tune because the opening chord of the aria includes the ending note of the a capella bit. Perfect. Icouldn't believe it. I keep singing. It's beautiful. I can see it on their faces. They are impressed. All the time I am thinking to myself, "I can't believe these notes are coming out of my mouth. This is gorgeous!" I end. They are indeed impressed. I get ready to pack it up and walk out with confidence knowing I am going to get a call that afternoon saying "You're in."

"Excuse me, gdbaby. Would you mind doing some sight singing for us?'

****. I am handed the piece to sight sing. No piano, nothing. I do not have perfect pitch and have not practiced sight singing since 1998. I finish my interpretation of the piece. Remember that Asian guy who auditioned for American Idol? I sounded like I was his protege. I think I have a better chance hearing from GW than Opera Colorado.

Don't break legs, just pool some funds together to get my pert ass back in private lessons.

Kind of like my first time: it was painful, I didn't learn much from it, but at least I can say I did it.

yea, what is up with the state schools? UIC strung me along and then dumped me! we are just not feeling the hometown love today i guess!

get rejected by UIC....get interview invite from south carolina....hmmmm....city of chicago (and near vicinity) has 7 medical schools, the entire state of south carolina has 2! 😕

I've been rejected from my state school twice, so I feel your pain. And as it's been written about before, the admissions process doesn't make any sense.

Shy, I don't know what to say. I am so sorry. Please have your fam take you out for dinner tonight, draw you a hot bath, pour you some wine and let you be the godess that you are.

I am still holding out for VCU as you seem to be a "one shot, one kill" kind of gal. If not, then my jealousy REALLY increases because Maine has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth.

SR, that sucks on so many levels. I'm sorry. But you do have an acceptance from UNECOM. I hope VCU comes through for you but if go to school you'll have to move your family and that sucks.

Sorry about Colorado, if it's any consolation, they rejected me as well in '02 forcing me to leave the state I love. In the end it worked out well for me, and I hope to does for you as well.

Gnarls Barkley is Cee-lo green and danger mouse. I think Cee-lo is the most underrated member of the dungeon family and on all the gnarls barkley stuff he sounds like al green. You will have lots of sex this year while gnarls barkley plays in the background.

i think a couple of tracks have leaked, i don't know when the album is coming out but i believe it's this month.
Cee-lo's got a couple of solo albums, and all the goodie mob stuff and the dungeon family album (don't sleep on that).

My husband wants to be a pirate. He is hoping we get back close to Lake Michigan so he can jumps ships on the Gold Coast and raid the loot. Arrrrgh.

Good things happen in my room, so I am rushing there now.
 
i went to the ophthalmologist today and he put this yellow shlt in my eyes and it stung real bad! yet, despite my pain, i could not have kicked his ass even if i wanted to. these are the perks of going to an ivy league school and graduating at the top of your class. you get to fock with people and they pay you to do it. no retaliation.

Ok, I remember the same thing a few years ago. It looked like I was getting highlighter fluid dropped into my eyes and they didn't tell me what was going to happen or why they were doing it. Then they put me in a dark room and I started to, you know, have trouble seeing. Granted this was also at the height of my, uh, substance use so I was hella paranoid. But when I left I got a pair of Blublockers and that made it all worthwhile.
Before I left the doctor guy told me my eyes were fine and I shouldn't come back until my late 30's. Who tells customers not to come in for 15 years? I wish he had just told me to see a dentist because my breath smelled. Maybe then I would have been able to rock those pop outs in style.

DU and others - what do you think of the arctic monkeys? sold 120,000 albums in one day. pretty ridiculous stuff. not really up my alley but the songs are catchy for sure, kinda strokes-ish. check out "a certain romance", "when the sun goes down" and "i bet you look good on the dance floor".
