Sigh... another day without an invite. Hoping for good news...

Though, realistically, most of us in this thread prob won't get many more invites, since interview invites are hard to get in general.

YOU ARE HEREBY BANNED FROM THIS THREAD!!!!! 😡

everyone else: :luck:
i feel like it's gonna be a good wednesday.....

I have been idling with no word from any school for at least two weeks. At this point, I would love to get a reject just as an acknowledgement that someone in some admissions office knows who I am. I became complete at most of my schools late August/early September. Might it take a couple more weeks to hear anything (assuming that additional interviews are forthcoming)?

Been on hiatus since I submitted my app June 5th 🙁. Interviews pleeeeeease! Pretty please?

Reapplicant...no invites yet...been complete for about 1.5 months now at most school I applied to...I only applied to 5 schools and I'm getting worried!

i have been complete at most schools since end of august. got only 1 interview from pitt in the beginning of august, before my app was complete. still waiting...

I've been complete and "under review" at Vermont, Drexel, and Temple for so long . . . we're talking almost 2 months . . . I'd really love an interview from one/two/all of these schools, and at this point it's ridiculously frustrating waiting while other people who were complete after me are receiving interviews to these schools. Maybe that's the schools' way of passively letting me know I won't be receiving an interview invite . . .

NO. 😡

interviews have dried up, I need that Umass Invite!!!!

14 days count as a hiatus? I only submitted my secondaries in late Aug and early Sep, and received quick invitations to U. Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Chicago, but nothing in 2 weeks.

I applied to 19 schools total, so my 1 month yield is just 3/19. That sounds bad, but I don't see many invitations going out from my other schools (admittedly, all of them non-rolling reach schools).

Do I have reason to lose hope with each day? Did I apply late and this is just par for the course? Should I just be thankful, chill out, and wait patiently? People have said "most of the invites have gone out" and I just cannot believe that's true, based on the number of non-rolling schools' invitations that are posted in the "Official Interview" threads.

let's hope all the invites aren't given out! that doesn't seem quite fair.

i was complete at all of my schools by mid sept. at the latest... i posted yesterday and got a "you're on hold!" from maryland. let's hope that wasn't the luck i got from posting here...!

here's to a good wednesday!

C'mon Baylor... big interview..no whammies.
Still no word from Maryland or Vandy for me either.

posting here works 😀 good luck everyone!

didnt get one today 🙁
and med schools adcoms operate early

Ok, I'm going to try this whole posting here for good luck thing. I really want some New York City school love... I've got apps into Columbia, AE, NYU, and SUNY Downstate, and AE's been complete for 2 months now!!

They probably see me as some crazy southerner applying but I've tried to make it clear on my apps that my whole fam is New York based. Let's see if this thread works!

:luck:

Sigh...I feel the same way. I got an invite from Pitt 1 week after submitting 2nd. Now, nothing...except a rejection from BU...curse them!

I've been complete at a few schools for a while, aka TUFTS, since end of August when they got my 2nd set of MCAT scores. Let's see...for the interview invite juju...I'm asking for

Harvard, Upenn, Baylor, Columbia and/or Cornell, NYU, Yale, and TUFTS....👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

VA love....

I got 2 invites in 3 days earlier, it's been almost 3 weeks since my last interview invite!!!

I'm really getting a feeling that they've already selected the people they REALLY want to come in for interviews... my app probably got tossed aside for later review because I'm not a spectacular student.

Anyone else feel the same? Is there any truth to this?

ahhhhh i am posting in here for luck. please luck, come my way. puh-leeeeeeeeaze

Every school I talked to except for the ones that haven't already given me interviews right away said the I am "still under review". I have been complete at most schools since mid/late august. Is anyone else in this same boat? Can anyone that applied last year give some insight as to the implications of this situation.
Thanks,
THR

Hey Muggle, I don't mean to be rude, but I think you are completely wrong. Unless you have been rejected from a school you still have a reasonable chance at interview. You may not be the committee's first pick and they may not revisit your file until some terribly far away date like January, but it is WAY TOO early to make conclusions like this. I have earned three interviews but I have been on a hiatus as well. However, I still have like 27 schools I am waiting to hear back from. We don't know what they are looking for, who they are choosing first (besides the in-staters and obvious genious MCAT/GPA superstars)...try to keep hope and not be negative. It's bad vibes. Might I recommend a good book to keep your mind off of things:

Second Opinion by Arnold Relman. Dr. Relman is a previous chief editor of New England Journal of Medicine and earned his M.D. in the 40's. He has a brilliant historical understanding of how our medical care system got to be how it is today and what we can do as future doctors to make change. I wish you good luck and hope you get your next fix soon.:luck::luck::luck:

posted in here a few days ago...no luck (unless you count a reschedule email for jefferson). grrrrrrrr. come on thread!

At least that's better than what I got - a UCSF rejection. Perhaps this thread is bad luck if you've already received a bunch of invites. Maybe I'm being greedy.

C'mon...daddy needs another invite.

Might as well post for luck... Interview at Vandy in August, then nothing except a state school gimme a few weeks ago.

Please, interview gods... it's been almost 3 weeks since my last invitation... please let me get something!

Alright my first post didn't work...let's see if this one does anything...

Maybe that's it... it's like only lucky if you have < 3 invites or something. The interview gods think we've had enough already, esp considering it's not even october?
*sigh*
It'd be so nice to hear from Boston/NY/other Philly schools...

nah i think you just have to post more for it to work if you have more interviews....i was on a three week hiatus with six, so i posted here a bunch of times, and then BAM two more...i think it's a proportional post-to invite ratio, so just keep posting. i'm going to start again to prevent another three week hiatus.

Haha.... Alright, well i hope you're right.... here's to your theory.

Knocking on wood, crossing my fingers-- come on interview!

A little CA school loving please! :luck:

I'm still waiting to find out about an interview in the normal way. 1st interview invite was from Mt. Sinai. I called them last Monday (9/24) to check my status and I was told- much to my surprise- that they had sent out an invitation to interview email on 9/12. So she resent the email because I had not received it (Mt. Sinai is definitely in my address book...still not quite sure what happened there).

2nd interview invite was from Cornell. I called them yesterday to see if they had received my email (sent also on 9/24) regarding having another interview in the city, as they ask you to let them know. I was transferred to a woman who informed me that they wanted to offer me an interview as well and were waiting to email me to figure out the dates (but I did get a date from her over the phone).

So, I've been endlessly checking my email for invites and haven't gotten any from that method. Maybe I'll just start calling schools every day...

Here's to more invites for all of us!

ohh so that's the secret... well here's to three posts in two days? maybe that'll be enough. it's only been a week and a half for me, though so I shouldn't really be complaining. All I've heard is a Georgetown rejection 🙁

I want to join the fun. I got a few invites quickly and since then the holds and rejection have been trickling in like chinese water torture. Here is to a successful October.

There is something creepy going on. I posted this last week after a three week interview invite hiatus. Yesterday I got an invite to Yale. I seriously cannot believe it. I had to call to make sure they didn't send me someone else's email. I have 32, 3.5 so it was a huge shock. Thus I seriously believe in the power of this thread. 🙂

i think i'm going to start posting here on a daily basis to see if anything happens...i do have a couple of invites already but i'm getting hungry for more...especially since i haven't heard from any of my top schools (and by top i don't mean ranked highly, but at the top of MY list)

So what's the cutoff for this ratio? 😀 Are we talking 3 posts to 1 invite?

I'm in the same boat...I just became complete at half of my schools last week (still not officially complete at the other half, even though I've sent everything in), but it seems like it's been weeks. I'm lucky enough to have one quick invite (though I was complete there for almost three weeks when the invite came in) and no rejections (huge knock on wood) though. Maybe I shouldn't be pushing my luck...

Still waiting for my first interview... hope this thread will throw a little luck my way!
