Anyone else with no interviews? o_O

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
😴 ...what? what? no emails, no calls? Either I am having a dream about my old 8th grade dance memories or it's just another day of no interviews... 😴

hahah ali g.
nice switch da mota.

Time ofr me to switch pix too!

Hi there,
It is still fairly early for the interview season. You can still interview in March and get an acceptance letter in April. That is months away. You can interview in April and get an acceptance letter in May.

Stay positive and put that nervous energy into a Plan B (what you are going to do if you are not accepted this year). The more elaborate your Plan B, the greater your chances of acceptance.

Do not read anything into getting a later interview! It does not matter WHEN you interview as long as you get an acceptance.

njbmd 🙂

PS. I am still looking at a pile of applications (about 60)on my desk that are going to get invitations in December. It is still early. Maybe yours might be in that pile. Many of them are excellent candidates so chill.

Its no use telling them. Its just like with the MCAT. Even if you have 2 months to wait for scores, you can't help but fele the nerves getting to you.

I wish :luck: :luck:

I know you are right on an intellectual level but on an emotional one I am a loon. Thanks for the sound advice though

Nothing yet today and from the responses I received on my "email invite trends" thread, I can start drinking now. 👍

You can start drinking in the morning, instead of milk, (since I am out of it) I used beer in my cereal. Ohh so wonderful and trhen off to class, biotransport and organic II are wonderful with a little sauce.

On a side note, Like ray, I will not only work for an interview. I will donate an organ, or gladly be used for medical research.
😛

Ideas for multiple new avatars brewing.....

Ahhh yes, beer in the cereal and now I am grading papers! HA foolish undergrads!

Between you and Ray, I sense a Faustian rebirth brewing. Wait did I just say brew? Better grab and oatmeal stout out of the minifridge in my office. At least it has oatmeal in it.

I had to look up Faustian and I also realized that I need to read books that are not comics.

me too. I'll try and compare the iraqi wars now using just war theory - Should be interesting while on the sauce!

Wait, didn't Bush, Jr. try this already?

ho-hum, another week gone by with no interviews.

maybe all the 20 schools i applied to are playing their own kind of waiting game, waiting to see who's gonna crack and invite me first! hmph.

Definitely the "while on the sauce" part. Sober, my ass.

Oh yeah. Still no interviews. I think I am going to head home, watch "Fear of a Black Hat" and laugh really hard.

what is the 😵 at the end of this thread's headline all about.

Hey all. I'm sorry to do this, but I'm out! Got an interview today. I'm so excited and am sure that you all will be leaving this thread empty soon! :luck: I'll keep checking back, if that's ok with everyone, to see how y'all are doing.

Best of luck and ace the interview! 🙂

I'm sorry also, but I'm off of the list and it's not because of numbers! ECs do count!

I feel like I found new faith in the process, I was really down on myself and everything about applying ($, time, essays, heartache) but I'm going to work my ass of to get ready for the interview and give it my best shot.

I hope you all hear good news soon :luck: .

Congrats and best of luck on the interview! 🙂

Congrats you guys. Best of luck. BTW: where did you guys get interviews.
BTW2: I am really drunk right now, but I still wish you guys the best.

Here, one of you can have my Wayne State University interview, I don't really want it anymore. [throws interview invitation into the fray] Ha ha, if only it worked that way, I really would. Oh well, good luck everyone! I'm sure the next batch of invites will be out soon. I didn't even start interviewing last cycle until December.

Oh fine. These are the funniest people on all of SDN. I feel more at home here. I guess I will slither over to the no acceptances thread instead. Deductive reasoning has it that you will all be over there too. 🙂

yeah, they're all there with us. And if they aren't, they sure should be!!!! I'm starting to hate that thread 'wall of fame'.

We got the most entertaining posters on this thread and still nothing. And they claim "laughter is the best medicine"....bah...hypocrites.

maybe as proof of our dedication to the medical profession we can sent a print out of this thread to some adcoms. mb it will attract some attention to our files or they will just feel sorry for us and give us an interview?

Good idea! 🙂 I think at least one of us will be hearing from a school this week! I can feel it! Heres to the best!!!
😛

hmmm i sure hope so

hiya! how's everyone doing?
.......^^^^******good interview vibes******^^^^^..........
I'm REALLY rooting for all of you guys. And still me, too. Yeah, I finally got one interview, but its from my (one of many) state school.

In other news, isn't everone glad today to NOT be
a) president of united states
b) vice president of united states
c) chief of staff of said president or vice president
d) erstwhile friend of president and ex-supreme court nominee

cause I sure am....

yay for being pre-doctors

good luck
my state schools wont even give a secondary.

though i am happy for everybody in this thread getting interviews and leaving, people who are august mcaters all depressed posting in this thread and then getting an interview and leaving actually gets me more depressed than ever. like it's so obvious that an april mcater like myself has been passed over! is this feeling unjustified??

oh well. here's to another week of waiting for interview invites.

Hi people...still here and it's all quiet on the interviews front for me. I keep getting this vomit-inducing feeling that I am gonna be back here next year. I don't think even waiting for the MCAT scores I was this worried at least not for this long.

Here's hoping that November brings about some changes.

Oh shoot Rayhan I saw you were the last poster on here and thought maybe something good had happened.
In the vein of some previous (superstitious) posts - here were the things I did on the day I got my interview:

1) Went to the doctor (ha!)
2) Found out my foot was infected (sweet!)
3) Hobbled home
4) Looked at my inbox and saw the "application complete at UVA" e-mail first
5) Opened UVA e-mail, got distracted
6) Came back to inbox later and was like SH** SH** SH**!!!

Moral of the story - go to the doctor, make a huge donkey out of yourself, then you will get an interview.

Just trying to superimpose a little method on the madness,

Pep

 That's a great story.

Sorry, no good news. But you have inspired me to go visit my uncontrollably fertile backyard barefoot.

HA! that's funny. I know you have kicked me off of this thread for my one lone interview, but you can have this thread when you pry it from my cold dead hands!

Still here, still waiting. I am thinking about buying an airline ticket to go to an URM open house during the most expensive travel time of the year, just for the possibility of meeting people who may or may not look at my application. BTW: I would have to switch a previously purchased airline ticket to a different location as well.

It may be cheaper for me to contract ringworm.

Okay, found out my advisor sent out 6 LORs today. He LIED to me and said he sent them out in July. ASSHOEL.

This is off topic, but what is that in your avatar? It looks like two rats standing on each other's shoulders trying to impersonate some other ungodly animal :scared:

Add me to the list

Oh okay...so it's a real animal then. I seriously gotta go hit my Zoobooks.

Sorry to hear about the deceptive writer. It's inexcuseable but hopefully he wrote a kick-ass letter to begin to make up for it.

Like the chinchilla, planning a daring escape from this club 😀 .
