Well - I think I'm actually still under review as per their status page. And even though I had everything in by the middle of August, they didn't show my file as complete until the beginning of November, haha. So I think they might be just a little behind on things. But I woulnd't worry... they don't have rolling admissions so it's still early!

Congratulations pepper! 😀 . While it may be 1 interview, it is one hell of an interview. Yale! You go girl! (assuming you're a girl, sorry if I'm wrong 🙂 ). We're rooting for ya!

NW rejected me WEEKS ago, yet my status page says "application still under review, page updated daily".....wtf?

RUSH and UIC have lost me in a black hole!

Loyola just likes my application sitting on their desk.... they review it repeatedly and make no decision with regards to it. They call me and taunt me - no interview invite, just letting me know it is up for review.

In addition, apparently RFUMS is going to sit on their decisions until the end of the week!

WAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I have my first, and only interview on Thursday at Florida State and I am SUPER excited!!! I haven't heard a peep from the florida schools so I have been really anxious!!! But, i have been rejected by medical unviersity of south carolina and george washington, which they claim is because im from out of state. I dont care cuz i have an interview!!! (yeah, i know this doesnt mean an acceptance, but i finally heard SOMETHING positive lol)
 
Got home after work today to find a thin letter waiting for me in the mailbox...Stony Brook this time. It was a very nice rejection letter but it destroyed the man-child optimism I had harborded for the last few weeks. Sigh...guess it's back to wearing all black again.

I would not worry about this one! There are only two med schools in SC and of course, EVERYONE wants to go to MUSC, who would not want to live in Charleston? I spoke with a lady in the dean’s office while I was in SC visiting family, and she was kind enough to crunch my numbers. Put it this way...taking your MCAT score, your GPA X some # based on your undergrad school rank you are given a #, and in state people must score at least a 10 to get an interview, out of state with "ties" meaning brother, sister, father or mother live in SC must be 11 or higher and out of state no ties must be above 12! With my GPA and MCAT I was an 11.2.... no out of state interview for me! My aunt lives there, no siblings or parents! Hope that helps!
 
Hey guys,

I'm new to this whole SDN thing (my friend just told me about it!), but I wanted to join the club - I actually don't have ANY interviews lined up yet. Zip! Zero! Nothing! And ready to pull my hair out! Granted I did turn all my stuff in a little later.....but it's been almost three months! Should I be worried?
 
Still only one interview here. Today Drexel put me on 'pre-interview hold'. yippee. I want an acceptance from VCU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad!

Yeah, I had figured. Their rejection letter was nice (if those kind of things can be considered nice lol) basically stating that it doesnt mean i am not strong applicant, but i am out of state, etc. Thanks for the info!! 😀
 
Don't post too often, but this thread calls me. I had one interview a bit a go and this school pretty much guaranteed a response by Dec 14th. No real hope for any other interviews either. Damn, this is killing me. It's like the last year and a half of my life is hinging on a single phone call... tomorrow. Just thought I'd publicly vent.
 
I was all percolated when I got my first invite but now the more I think about it, it seems like I am iterviewing for a waitlist...it's in April. And I have been rejected from all the SUNY's. Also, I am waiting for the thin letters from AECOM and NYMC but you know they are going to be a **** about it and send it out in February or March. MCW keeps sending me vague e-mails. Vermont's "next several weeks" have turned into 4 months...I wonder if the time in Vermont rolls as slowly as the syrup there (that's for Gdbaby) and that's basically it.
 
Rayhan, I've determined that the adcom in Vermont is about as fast as molasses flowing in the arctic tundra when it comes to my app. Complete a few days before 9/1, still "we'll contact you in the next several weeks". Perhaps they are all physicists on UVM's adcom?

desired, Drexel informed me two ways: One by ignoring me totally for three months, and then they decided as a Christmas gift they'd put their ignoring me in an email as a "hold status pending review at a later date". I'm guessing I'll hear from them next when they clean out the adcom offices before next cycle when the cleaning lady sends me an email: "we no likey you no more - go away".

:laugh: You did the syrup/molasses joke better than me. I'm gonna shoot them an e-mail again to see what's going on. I demand answers...preferably favorable answers. And MCW thought they can silence me with another vague e-mail...I don't think so. :meanie:
 
Still only 1 interview for me too... but AMC told me via telephone last week that someone would get to my application (for review) in the next 10 days. Also, I sent Maryland a "I will definitely come to your school, don't you remember you waitlisted me last year and told me to improve my MCAT and I did so why did you put me on hold pre-interview I love Maryland I practically am a turtle I am a state resident I will get a terrapin tattooed on my rear if you give me an interview and let me in I can't wait to live in the ghetto of Baltimore" letter.

Please oh please interview gods. Please. It is all I want for Chrithmath (does saying it with a lisp make me cuter and more attractive to adcoms?) besides an acceptance.

Also, why is there no sobbing uncontrollably emoticon? 🙁

Yea, that snow-thing was pretty bad...really not packing snow so I am surprised I was able to do what I did. You should see it...the little kids get off the school bus at our corner and just kind of stare at it like "what the hell is that?" he is still standing, but he is slightly slumped over now...it is pretty funny. If I were to spray paint him yellow-orange he would look just like a giant cheese curl with arms in my front lawn.


As for the teeth - I like that little Froggy! I used to have one of those frogs (white's tree frog that is). He lived to be 11 years old and he used to sing every night! I miss him 🙁 I only have one frog left now, a "Pac Man" frog, so named as he is a round, yellow ballish-blob that is all mouth with two little beady black eyes on top of his head...when he sings it sounds like a duck quacking!
I have the snow-thing as my avatar right now, you know, for the holidays and all, but I need to find a good one to replace Froggy.

We didn't have any rocks or coal available for the eyes, so I took two clumps of muddy, dirty snow out from under my husband's truck and melted them into round balls and slapped 'em on. I am amazed that they have stayed! And his nose is a piece of our dead, dried out "contorted hazelnut" tree, that was once very beautiful but is now a fire hazard and an eye sore that needs to be chopped down next spring!

If we get any more snow, I will have to create for him a companion!
 
Now that school's over, I have nothing to distract me from worrying about getting into med school. What do y'all do to keep yourselves occupied and not thinking about the process?

The guy from the consumerist used to write for gizmodo (they're owned by the same company), then he quit and wrote some stuff for Wired but now he's at the consumerist and I think he's hilarious. And if you look at the Gizmodo archives (yes, I am a american aquarium drinker -which is to say, I am trying to waste your time) it used to be way funnier. But it's still great. It's all a promiscuous orgy of writers who are way funnier than they need to be.
Did I mention I'm a total nerd? Just making sure. But I could totally bench press your son! Cuz I got huge muscles! Ahh, maybe not. (By the way, he is a cutie.)

Are you old enogh to remember Might Magazine--it is the magazine that was started by David Eggers a long time ago (1994-ish). I have their last year of issues and still laugh very hard.
