Anyone hear about interviews
Started by whatsdown
Maybe Emory only wants research people...I personally think that doing research for 2 years before clinical training is stupid because 1) how do you really know what you are interested in cards w/o having complete clinical exposure and 2) who do you know who to work with?
It seems to me that there research track is good only for Emory's established investigators looking for cheap scut monkeys, as opposed to setting up fellows for future careers in academics.

I can say that I am not super excited about their research track setup, with 2 years up front. I would prefer to have the research at the end and have time to find a project. Maybe they will be flexible with that? I think they are looking for already established researchers to come into that program, who know what they want to do. But it can be hard to stay away from positions that are "scut monkey" like, or fall into a high risk projects that may or may not work out. Just need to do your research before you arrive.

I'm not applying for cards, but several people in my program got interviews at UNC yesterday as well. This cards match sounds rough. Congrats to all of you!
Just curious: what's your background? (AMG/FMG, research, where do you do your residency etc). Northwestern is pretty selective and you're the only one I heard with interview. Thx
Just received Northwestern 1/15
Nope, it certainly appears that there are Total Rejections in addition to the Subtotal Rejection ;-) Goodluck...
Congrats! I did not get northwestern. I did get a "your an alternate" for an interview spot. Does anyone know if this something they send all of their applicants?
