Anyone heard from Mt. Sinai pre-interview?

I was complete since September and have not heard a thing. Has anyone been rejected from this school? I called and they said my application was still under review....Do they just put everyone in the hold column to be nice or have they been sending out rejections?

I am dying to go to Mt. Sinai. I even wrote them an update letter, AND a letter of interest, and they still ignored me. 🙁

Any August MCAT-er heard from them yet? Anyone know how they view non-trads?

Here's the inside scoop: I work at Sinai and have been told many, many times by current medical students who interview applicants that Sinai's just very behind. I've also heard that Sinai interviews fairly late into the season, so I think the best mode of attack is just to continue to show an interest. My friend called up to check her status every Monday for the past 4 weeks and just got an interview invite; I think Sinai likes that stuff.

I know sweatybrain and MistressS have heard from Sinai - I'm sure there are other August MCATers - check out the August interview thread...

Do you think it's better to contact the Admissions office, or the Dean directly? I haven't heard back since August, when I was complete, and I would love to interview. I will be in NY next month, maybe I can grovel...??

I absolutely 😍 Mt. Sinai, and I, too, am interested in going there. I had everything in by October, but I haven't heard from the admissions committee. I have, however, been contacting their admissions office frequently. I can only continue to have faith that everything will work out fine 🙂

Thanks for the suggestions! I too would love to go to MSSM (their adolescent health program stole my heart), but had given up hope after assuming the months-long silence was code for "no way in hell".

I emailed the dean ([email protected]) and the general admissions office. 15 minutes later no joke barnett wrote that he reviewed my file and = no interview. the next day i got an email from admissions saying my file was still in review. if you want a direct answer, go the direct way. guess it's better to know than to expend emotional energy holding onto hope. 🙁

really?? This is unbelievable. I emailed Scott Barnett last Saturday, so I should expect an answer from him when he is back to work on Tuesday. Oh, so stressful. I really want an invite from Mt. Sinai.
