Got an email from medical college of Wisconsin that said they were not able to offer me an interview but should an interview spot open up, they would still consider offering me an interview. Has anyone else gotten an email like this or heard of this before?

It means you are likely in their 2nd tier. 1st tier = automatic interview, 2nd tier, just missed the cut, 3rd tier = will not be ranked.

I am waiting on a rejection from UIC since it looks like they let people who got interviews know already, but haven't heard anything. Really hoping that I'll still get an invite but I know that the odds are low. I also haven't heard from UNC yet.

I haven't yet, wondering the same thing! The site to which I applied said they would be in touch again sometime in December, so probably not unusual that we haven't heard yet (I hope)!
ahh okay. I was invited to move forward with the usajobs app by FCC Allenwood and their brochure also said early December, so I figured I was probably just being impatient, but thought I'd ask anyways. Fingers crossed that FBOP interview invites start rolling in for us! good luck!

Is it normal at this that I still haven’t heard from any site? No rejection and no interviews yet.
I don't necessarily know if it's normal, but I'm pretty much in the same boat. I have only heard from 2, whereas people in my cohort seem to have heard from a lot more. I'm hoping it's just because some of the sites I applied to had later deadlines. Fingers crossed for you and good luck! Don't give up hope 🙂

Several of my friends are still waiting on responses. I wouldn't worry too much -- just make sure you check your spam folder!! I had an email from a site that got filtered out into that folder.

If you mean Wisconsin School of Medicine Public Health, I have not heard anything from them, but I'm assuming a rejection at this point.

If you all haven’t seen it yet, I encourage everyone to read the latest email on the MATCH News list. It’s almost as if they’ve been reading this thread 😉

The advice about when to worry and when to contact sites if you haven’t heard is super important (as well as the part about not engaging in a doom spiral if you haven’t heard when others have). APPIC and the internship sites have given us all the information we need. Revisiting that information periodically when anxiety spikes would be immensely helpful.

I swear they must send this exact email every year. Why they wait until the end of November instead of just plastering in the APPIC main page at the beginning of November is beyond me. I also found it funny that sites are encouraged to notify of interviews by 12/15, this year aside, that seems like a pretty late date to aim for.

I was also curious about whether this finding would hold up to the potentially unique COVID impacts. I feel like from my casual observation on here and with peers that some types of sites (hospitals, bigger name institutions, and integrated care) are getting a huge number of apps. Feels like if that's the setting you want you may need to apply to more/get more than 6 interviews/have some backup settings to be safe. It would be interesting to see this study done again for this year with correlations broken down by site type or some sort of a name recognition index.

As someone who is in a program in an area with no real options for hospital-based practicum (though I managed to have inpatient and integrated care placements), the process of trying to get into doing a hospital based internship has been disheartening due to what feels like an especially competitive year.

Whoever decides to do this study might as well loop in next years application season as well because something tells me the pattern will be similar. I also want to see what shifts there may be in Phase II and Post Match.

Has anyone who got an interview for the TCSC/Dell Children's peds neuropsych track gotten confirmation of their interview date? I sent back my preferences and got an email 10 days ago that they had been received, but I haven't heard anything since.

Thanks! It was received at 4:34PM EST.

I am not sure if the general track emails went out as the email was personalized to my track and interview date!
