Hi all, I wanted to make this post to to get feedback on my application by comparing it to what i put forth last semester, to not only see if its competitive enough to get into a public program in Florida, but also see if anyone had any suggestions to make it stronger since i went 0/8 last cycle. My background is in Exercise Science, and I have a solid background with leadership experiences with my time working in the housing department, and University Recreation and Wellness in my undergrad, and I've been diligent about asking for feedback form every school I've applied to and met with some of them to discuss my application.

  • Last Years Application (2024-25)
    • Pre-Req GPA: 3.16
    • L60 GPA: 3.49
    • GRE: 295 (144V, 151Q, 3.5 AWA)
    • Shadowing Hours: about 80 outpatient, 0 Inpatient.
  • This Years Application (so far)
    • Pre-Req GPA: 3.49 (if all goes well since I’m retaking some classes over the summer)
    • L60 GPA: 3.49
    • GRE: TBD (still trying to study for it)
    • Shadowing Hours: 1000+, I've spend the last 6 months as a rehab tech, and I currently have about 30-40 hours at an inpatient setting in a skilled nursing facility.
    • I did also get my CSCS back in march as well
Thank you so much for anyone who took the time to read this post and give me feedback, i appreciate it, I've been hard at work preparing for the next cycle and i want to do everything in my power to get into a school.

Have you spoken to the schools that rejected you? They will often tell you exactly what you need to do to improve. It's great you're improving your GPA and getting more hours. Is it possible to get any more in inpatient settings? And how were your essays?

Hello!

Yes I spoke to all of them via email, and I even met with an advisor from one of the schools via zoom. pretty much the consensus was my low GPA, and GRE scores held me back. I did speak to one school who said my letters of recommendation weren’t great, but that’s just one school, and regardless I feel that won’t be an issue moving forward. I currently aim to get around 50 inpatient hours and I’m right around there currently
