Yes, I picked Yale's HPM and Policy departments, was complete like January 13th.

just asked if I had received an email saying my file was under review (I had in early January). She replied that I should know by March 1 and then proceeded to hang up in my face.

The email you received in January saying your file was reviewed, was it titled: "APPLICATION RECEIPT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT-DO NOT REPLY"?

This is the email I got:

This is to acknowledge that we have received both your SOPHAS and UCLA graduate applications. Your application has been submitted to the department of Community Health Sciences for review.

We are not checking on transcripts until a decision has been made by the department. Our school uses the online review from SOPHAS. You can check your SOPHAS application to make sure all your documents have been received by them. Once an official decision is made and I notice that your transcripts have not arrived I will let you know then.
It is our every intention to have decisions finalized before March 1, 2012. Successful candidates will then have until April 15, 2012 to accept our offer of admission.

Thank you for your interest in UCLA, School of Public Health and please accept best wishes for success with your application to graduate study.

It does. Found same email stuffed in the corner of my inbox. Relieved that they processed it. More anxious that I haven't heard anything (someone on gradcafe posted they were accepted to UCLA Biostats Masters today).

I cannot wait for this all to be over.

Website finally worked and the first page says Congrats got into Columbia HPM but then it is followed by another page that says something about being waitlisted for my "first choice" and says they will let me know by "May 2011"...What is that? discrepancy? Anyone else?

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted thus far, especially to Columbia! Pretty incredible to see so many acceptances go out at the same time from the same school.

I'm still waiting on BU...looks like they are sending out emails first and letters second? Certainly didn't help that I was checking my email furiously all day 🙄

But I'm getting a lunchtime massage tomorrow while I'm at work. I heard there's a small parlor a few blocks away, so I'm going to check it out. I definitely need something to relax my nerves a bit. Hopefully this will help!

How long did it take all the Yale applicants to get the application complete e-mail?

My app was sent on 1/24 and I got a confirmation of its receipt on 1/31.

I too am still awaiting a decision from Columbia-HPM. I emailed them and was informed that I will hear no later than early-March. It seems that they're sending decisions in batches, I submitted my application in late-December so I'm not exactly surprised that I have yet to receive a decision.

Good luck with BU! What track did you apply too? I also applied and I actually received the acceptance packet in the mail first followed by an email (around 12/15). I applied to the social and behavioral sciences track.

Congratulations! I applied to the Social and Behavioral Sciences track as well 😎 Are you thinking about doing an area of emphasis? I was thinking Health Communication but now I'm leaning more towards Intervention Planning.

BU processed my application on February 1st, so it's only been a little over 3 weeks now, but I still want to know! I think though I would rather receive the packet first than the email. Makes it more exciting and personal....and having something to hold in your hand makes all that hard work pay off! 😀

Just spoke to admissions. The duplicate waiting list letter was A MISTAKE. You need to e-mail the office to let them know and they will correct it. If you received an acceptance, it still stands 🙂

They must be as I keep getting sent straight to voice mail when I call.

I did just get an e-mail out of the blue from the director of admissions that they are working to resolve it and should hear back shortly.

Call me old fashioned but at least with good old snail mail, these mistakes rarely happened back in the day.

yeah she put me on hold twice when i called. but at least she answered the question. it's cheaper and faster for them to do decisions online now, but i agree, snail mail is the best.

I thought about applying to Harvard's MPH Program, but my understanding is that they prefer those with advanced medical degrees? MSPH was too academic/research for my career goals, so I opted out. I'm sorry to hear you weren't accepted though! Do you all have other acceptances lined up?
