Pharmcas doesn't send out our applications until Aug, right..? So if we e-submit before then, do schools review our files according to the date we e-submitted it? I sent in all of my app materials for UOP in order to make the tier 1 deadline.. But I'm just wondering how this works, since I thought pharmcas doesn't send out apps until August. Any thoughts on this?

If the school participates in Pharmcas, then pharmcas won't even send your application out until August 1st. So it doesn't matter how soon you e-submit it, schools won't receive anything until after August 1st.

However schools do have access to your infomation online before then.

There is an application process time - it appears to vary across the board - but it can be as short as 3 weeks to as long as 6 - Regardless - sooner is better than later. Odds are at least one of the programs you are applying to have rolling admissions. Being one of the first apps reviewed cannot hurt you.

Also, the applications are dated so the school may choose the ones done in June as opposed to August first.

Seriously though, the non-rolling admission schools are set up where the difference between June completion and August completion isn't that great. I doubt it makes a make-or-break difference on one's application. Of course, everyone should get their apps in ASAP to allow for any unforeseen issues and delays, but being first in line isn't going to make your application more attractive than the 100th or 200th person.

Timing is against an applicant when he or she waits to apply in the last weeks. That is when even the regular admission schools start setting up their first interview sessions that naturally raise the bar a little for the later applicants.

Thanks for the replies everyone. 🙂 I already e-submitted my pharmcas app. It's better to be safe than sorry. Haha.. I wish pharmcas would send it out already!

Maybe that's why I didn't get interviews for some schools since I applied a week before March 1st. Oh well...

I knew all about applying early, but it was hard to get everything in especially the LORs. But I'm glad the whole ordeal is over. I just can't imagine myself going through it again.

Just to be sure you can send PharmCAS app. before letters of recommendations come in right?

I'm pretty sure you can submit before all LORs are in, but once you e-submit you can't edit who your references are.

Did you get any interviews or acceptances even though you applied right before the deadline? It sounds like you got in. 🙂

I wish this app period was over already too.. Even though I'm not even close to being finished with all the supps.. It's nerve wrecking..

You can still edit your LOR's after you e-submit. If you have a reference that has not submitted, you are still able to delete them and add another if needed.

To be honest - you are over the worst part - starting. Beyond that, carefuly work your way through the sups. Turn everything in as soon as you feel comfortable with its level of polish. Preparing for interviews is simple - its the wait after that was horrible for me.

Oh - I think Kelly is going to UACP in VA...
