I am applying to UW Madison and University of Iowa and was curious about my chances as an out of state (IL) resident. These two schools and Mayo are my top choices. I am a non-traditional student with both a Bachelors and Masters degree. However, the degrees are in non-science fields, but still from good schools. My stats:
MCAT: 35P (12 in both sciences and an 11 in VR)
Overall AMCAS undergrad GPA: 3.61
Overall AMCAS BCPM GPA: 3.72
Grad School GPA: 3.77
I think it is also worth noting that my post-baccalaureate undergrad work over the past two years, which is when I took every requirement for med school (O Chem, Gen Chem, Physics, Bio, A&P, Micro, Calc, etc) has a BCPM and Overall GPA of 3.94. I would assume they take this into account. Also, my grades have steadily improved over time from a dreadful 2.87 Freshman year of undergrad to pretty much a 4.0 now.
