I appreciate any input on my application strength and weaknesses and would really like feedback on my school list! Thanks for any help!
I think many applicants would kill for stats like yours. As long as you don't have red flags, decent essays, and dont come across as a doorknob during interviews, I think you could get in anywhere.

Where do you live in IL? SIU has very specific attendance focus. How come no University of Chicago? I’d take Rosalind Franklin off your list. Did you use the MSAR to check on OOS statistics for public schools? Your mission trips to foreign countries aren’t impressive to many ADCOMS. It’s better to find unserved/underserved right in your own community. You should get off campus and out of your comfort zone and show your altruism. You really haven’t done much of that. How many hours do you have in the soup kitchen? You need at least 150 + hours in both clinical and nonclinical experience. You have enough shadowing. I’m not sure what a biotech intern is but you most likely have enough clinical experience. The main thing is to keep acquiring experiences. Don’t stop just because you have “enough”. Always plan for a reapplicationtion.

Rural IL. Both the intake volunteering and biomedical tech internship were with a free health clinic in my own community if that’s what you mean? And yes I know I need to get more experiences so I appreciate that input!

I suggest the following:
Do not count the mission trip as non-clinical volunteering; we view as tourism, unless it was for a prolonged time overseas. Get in more service to others here in the US

Doing my best to get more non-clinical volunteering—-hoping not having a ton of it won’t completely kill my application. I’m going to get as much as possible before applying. Thanks a lot!

You need more clinical and nonclinical volunteering. Get 150+ hours of each and you're golden. If you took a gap year and did something like Americorps, you'd become a very attractive applicant for top-20 schools.

I don’t think you need to apply to more than 20 schools.
