Applying to allopathic residencies

I dont want this thread to turn into a talk about taking the USMLE...I didn't take the USMLE (was going to go into FP) and I plan on applying to allopathic peds residencies. How do I know whether or not a school will take the COMLEX or do I have to wait to find out from a letter of rejection?

95% do take COMLEX... but if you are paranoid, you can email individual programs (one of my friends did)...

of the top of my head, places that said they needed USMLE:

St. Louis U.
UWash
NYU
UColorado
Vandy
Virginia
Hopkins

Some places didn't even respond to the question (probably means they need USMLE):

MGH
Boston Children's
UCSF

mostly top tier places are the ones that will require it - if you want to know about specific one, just email the secretary in charge of the residency program (you can usually find this email address on FREIDA). if he/she doesn't know the answer, they may forward your email to the program director.

I have a follow up question...
I too hope to apply to allopathic residencies in pediatrics but want to do an osteopathic internship year first (mainly because I'm a single guy who won't qualify for hardship). Do I apply for the peds allopathic residency in my fourth year of medical school, or just the internship year, or both? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

I applied to University of Arizona and didn't get an interview, but my compatriots from my class with similar grades who took the USMLE did.
