Hello everyone,

I am currently a dental student under the army HPSP. I was debating on getting corrective eye surgery (LASIK) and realized there may be some rules to this. I looked around older threads and the only relevant one was over 10 years ago. Anyone know if I can do this procedure? am I not allowed? do I need permission first?

Thank you!

I don’t see why not but I would check with a recruiter first. Honestly I would wait until you go on active duty though. I had my eyes done at an Army hospital and not only was it free but I really believe there is no better place to get it done anywhere in the world. They see so many people to build an incredible amount of experience, use the best new technology, and aren’t financially motivated.
