Hey guys, quick question about secondary fees.

I know most schools say wait until you get an email from an officer to submit. For other schools like roseman, it says pay when you "submit the adea aadsas". I pressed submit, but it isn't actually submitted because they still have to verify my grades and the batch isn't even sent. So, do I wait until the batch is sent or do I just go ahead and pay now?

Thanks!

Just pay. Grades take over a month to verify.

Quick question about how to list work experience on AADSAS. I worked as a mechanic/car detailer on my own during undergrad. Since I didn't technically have an employer, how would I list that?

Hi,

I took one class at a community college. I have submitted the transcript request form to them already. My question is when calculating my GPA, does that one class get lumped into all my other courses from the university I attend or does that sort of just stand alone? The AADSAS calculation sheet says, "ADEA AADSAS counts grades and hours assigned by the school where the courses were originally taken, not by any school that has granted transfer credit." I am not sure how to interpret that.

Also, are semester hours the same as how many units the course is worth? For example, does a 3 unit class = 3 semester hours?

Thank you

I would use "Self-Employed" as the company.

I was a tutor, so I literally wrote "Self-Employed" under employer

List it as self-employed mechanic/detailer?

Thanks, that is all. Now I have to figure out how many hours I worked from years back.

Thanks, that is all. Now I have to figure out how many hours I worked from years back.

I feel you, I worked one job that was salary and they sent me home early all the time, the best I could do was estimate in the end.

1. Anyone else run out of characters when entering your high school name? What did you do?
2. Does a class I got "W" on have a special classification, or is it just "not applicable"?
3. On the transcript request form, can we leave the "former name" section blank even if there is an asterisk next to it?

Yeah, it's hard to estimate hours from 5+ years ago. I guess I'll just put a decent number and if they ask, I'll just explain.

For #1, I just left off high school name. So instead of "Fake City High School" I would use "Fake City" or "Fake City High".

Do we include credits that we've passed from AP classes going into college for the transcript portion

I believe it would get lumped in and would be included in your overall GPA. I think that quote means that if your CC gave you an A for a grade of 90, but your university would have counted a 90 as an A-, your actual AADSAS grade would still be an A.

Yes, semester hours = units of credit

I have a random question. Why does credits section have fractional values in them e.g 2.25, 2.33, 2.50, 2.67, 2.75 etc?

For all those that might ask this, I called and asked about dental volunteering hours I wasn't sure if you list it in dental experience and in the volunteering section. Lady said DO NOT duplicate your hours. If you volunteered at a dental office, list it under the "Dentistry/shadowing section" and not again in the volunteering section.

My Committee letter isn't coming in until August.

I already have my 7 LOR's uploaded to Interfolio. I plan to take my DAT by the end of June

Also, aadsas only accepts up to 4 LOR's, but some schools have different preferences on who they'd like to see LOR's from. This makes it impossible to only upload 4 LOR's and make all schools happy. Just to make it more complicated, Maryland Dental said they want me to wait till August to submit the committee letter...

What do I do?

Purely for context, my GPA is 3.42 (not that good), my LOR's are from my university professors, dentists, professors/ alumni of dental schools, and one very famous retired public health official. My CV is also (again I don't mean to brag and i'm sure many have better than I) pretty damn stellar.

Has anyone here dealt with a situation where the course name on your transcript is too long to fit into ADEA's "Course Title" field?
So if the course name on the transcript is 30 characters long, but there is only room for 20 characters in ADEA's "Course Title" field?

1. Abbreviate (High School = HS)
2. Not sure, sorry
3. If it won't let you leave it blank, put N/A

Does Drug Chemistry count as a chemistry class or other science class? It's a CHEM 4000 class at my school.

No, it is an optional section.

After undergrad, I took some welding and auto courses at the local community college. Would these courses fit under the Professional Tab or the Post Bac Tab?
Thank you!

Anyone else wanting to cut their school list after seeing the total fees for primary and secondary applications on the designations page??

should I submit my application or wait until they receive my transcripts? I have decided to pay the fee to get my grades entered; I have decided to go with this option because I am afraid that I might mess up and delay the processing of the application. my question is should I submit now or wait until they receive the transcripts?

Do you ever get to see your actual "official" scores? My aadsas page says I took it on the 18th, received it on the 2nd but nothing else.

If I took my DAT May 28... when should I expect to see that my DAT scores were received on my application?

Made a rookie mistake, I forgot my fourth letter of recommendation. Just emailed a professor and said she would write it and that she's writing June and August; she is taking off July.

I made sure I had all the other LOR before 6/1/16. Then I realized that Nova wanted a liberal arts one?
DAT scores are in.

Long story short: When esubmitting, for the schools that only require 3 LOR's would my application be complete? Or would it be delayed until August (worst case scenario she doesn't get to it) for the fourth letter of recommendation? Would that impact my chances for early application?

Your official DAT scores? You can see them on the app. If you look under the PDF application you send to each school it has your GPA/DAT breakdown.

Is that just the print application option on the left hand side of the page?

Is there a way to see the PDF version of the application before submitting?

Uhh I usually just clicked the school PDF symbol next to the school designation. That print thing might be it though.

It's actually totally different, haha. I didn't see this before I submitted. Thanks!

This may have been asked already: I understand that I don't have to list Spring 2017 courses.
My Fall 2016 courses are not on my transcript, do I still have to list them?

Does anybody else not have anywhere to put in their payment information before they submit? I'm a little nervous to submit it

I listed them anyway, since schools will probably want to know what you're taking anyway

So when listing courses do you strictly look at the Course Subject/Department code? I have a class listed under EGN (Engineering) that is called Globalization and Technology. Not sure if I should list it under Other Science since it wasn't very math intensive or would they just change it as they see fit when they audit it?
I would go by the what the department code (engineering in this case) falls under based on the list of science vs. non-science vs. other science, etc. They will check and recategorize as they see fit, no worries so long as you didn't accidentally wrongly label a ton of your classes which would cause your processing time to delay a bit more.

I would assume that the schools that only require the 3 recs that you have in will be considered complete and begin the review process for your app. Once your 4th letter gets uploaded, all the schools that you've applied to will be sent an update from AADSAS on the next mailing date (Fridays, if I remember correctly). An early August mail out date is generally still considered within the "early" range of applications

What do you classify the College Algebra credit as if you obtained it through doing well on the SAT?

Sorry if this has been asked already but I wasn't able to find it. Do I have to put the courses I plan on taking in my senior year on AADSAS?

For the professional experience I don't know whether to write the description in first person or use third person. Could someone give me an example of a description of one of their actives for reference? Thank you.

I'm positive that you do for Fall semester..IE the semester starting in like, 3 months. I'm not sure about the ones after that, though.

Write it as it appears on your resume.
