Go on your ADEA application. On the left side, there is a "My Tools" box. Within the box there is "My messages". Click on it and it'll show what you need to send in with your FAP. The message will said that 2017 FAP has been received and these are the documents they need from you.

Below is from my message:
Your 2017 ADEA AADSAS Fee Assistance Program application request has been received. If you are approved for fee assistance, the cost of your first 3 dental school designations will be waived. You can monitor the FAP Application status by logging into your 2017 ADEA AADSAS application and selecting FAP status. If you are approved for the Fee Assistance Program, you will have 10 business days from the date of approval to eSubmit your ADEA AADSAS Application, to receive the fee assistance.

Right, I understand that part. I received that same message as well as soon as I e-submitted the FAP application. But nowhere in that message does it list anything about a Financial Aid Verification Form, so I was curious as to what that user was on about and was nervous that I could be missing something 😕 But! I just checked the GoDental site about further directions for FAP, and the Financial Aid Verification form is for those who did not work during 2015. Thus, I'm in the clear. Whew! Case dismissed. Problem solved.

What if the initial class doesn't show up on the transcript? My school gives a leeway period where you can drop without it showing up, even though I ended up taking a class later to fulfill the same requirement... Basically, why would it matter if its not on the transcript?

If it's not on your transcript, don't put it on AADSAS. That doesn't count as a withdrawn class if it's in the leeway period. Your original question (and the question of others) sounded like you had gone past the leeway period and gotten a W on your transcript

Does anyone have the phone number to the transcript processing center or know where I can call to see whether or not they received my transcript in the mail?

Hi guys! I know this has been asked in past threads but there have been conflicting opinions- if I took a course, withdrew and then took the course again for a grade the next semester, do I label the second course as repeated? Thanks!
I called and was told that no, if you did not receive a grade the first time the class is not counted as a repeat.

Unrelated, but I love your username. 🙂

I promise you, when they receive it and process it, it will appear on your AADSAS application as received. Be patient. It's been one week. If you call, I can 99% guarantee you they will not say "oh yes we have the transcript right here, it just has not been put online yet."

So is there any other way for me to list that in my application? I do want the admissions to know that I'll start TAing this fall.
Have you done it before? If so, it could be listed as a "continuing" thing. If you've done any little bit of work for it yet (helped prepare a syllabus, graded anything, etc) you can probably put it on. Otherwise, you can't really list it because you haven't done anything yet. Once you start TAing, and if your cycle isn't going so great, you can always email your schools with an update saying you've been TAing and anything else to show your continued interest

Any chance a new DAT is coming out soon? I would hate to spend additional time studying psychology, sociology and other general ed stuff. I realize they are important. I just hate it when people shovel them down my throat. Thanks

Nope haven't done it before. There is a section on the application for re-applicants where they ask what you have been doing different from the last time I applied...could I mention there that I will start TAing this fall?

I read on some posts on SDN saw that Meharry and Howard are NOT OOS friendly. I would like to confirm whether or not this is true. Thanks!

Do dental schools look at your GPA with +/-, just like in your transcript, or do they look at your AADSAS GPA, without +/-

QUESTION:
Oh snap, I want to apply to New England Dental school but just realize that they require Micro. Can I take it in Fall 2016 and still consider as completed application?

Yes I believe so. As long as you take it before you start fall 2017

The prerequisites for all schools must be taken before matriculation, not application.

If I E-Submit before I get in my LOR's, will my app actually be sent to the schools? Or does AADSAS just wait for my app to be complete before sending it out?

QUESTION:
For the virtual fair today on ADEA, will I be appearing on the screen if I ask questions? Just so I know to get changed and look a bit like a human.

If I am Arab, what do I put down as my race on AADSAS. Should I put Asian, other Asian, then type in Arabic?

It will be send out, and then update when your LORs are in.

Doesn't really matter.

Dudeeee, I found out that Western accepts online science courses, as long as they're accredited. Please don't mock me if you already know this.
"it will not matter for application purposes if a science course was taken online or not, as long as it is offered by an accredited US institution of higher learning and shows up on your transcript with an associated grade and credit hour."

QUESTION:

Which of the GPA/DAT do you use to when choosing for your dental school list? Please explain why.
1) average GPA/DAT incoming class stats (class of 2019)
2) average GPA/DAT that the school webpage posted

For example: Midwestern-IL
1) Class of 2019 has sGPA 3.3 and DAT 18-20
2) School webpage has sGPA 2.75+ and DAT 17+

Of course, the real stats. Schools post lower stats on their website to increase application. They make tons of money if more ppl apply

I sent out my transcript on June 1st, and it usually takes 7-10 days to be received. Should I resend if I don't see an update on AADSAS by the 11th?

No. Just give them some more time. They might have it and just dont have time to process and update AADSAS just yet.
Chill. It will appear when the time comes.

Can letters of evaluation be edited by the evaluator once uploaded to aadsas? I just saw the letter my dentist wrote me, and he wrote my last name incorrectly- i.e. he put a last name that sounds similar to mine but is a different name. I already got the aadsas notification that it's been submitted, don't want to bother him to fix it if its un-changeable.

It's possible. In this case, it's an easily fixable mistake and I'm sure your dentist would be happy to fix it if he can. Wouldn't hurt to ask!

Can i submit the application if I took the DAT but the score wasn't recieved yet?

If not, how long does it typically take for you DAT to be scored/sent to AADSAS?

I want to take my DAT and submit the app by the end of this month, so I want to know the last possible day of this month that I can take it.

Yes submit it

Cool!! If you've taken it, do you know how long it takes to get the score? As far as I've read its only uploaded to AADSAS but if I submit it i don't know how else I'd see the score?
It will take about 2-4 weeks depend.
It will be updated on your app when the scores are in

On the biographic information section of the AADSAS application, there is a subsection titled Place of Birth/Citizenship. I am a foreign citizen in the United States on a visa and I have been studying in the U.S. for 13 years in Texas. For tuition purposes, I am classified as a Texas resident because I graduated from a Texas high school. However, I do not think I am a LEGAL Texas resident. Any opinions on what I should put for the "State/Province of legal residence"? Should I say No State?

I called ADEA AADSAS for help, but the representative claimed that she cannot advise me on this section because it is biographic. I am not sure how to answer the question, and I do not want to answer wrong and get penalized for it during the processing part of the application. Any recommendations on what I should do?

You are still very early in the cycle. Dont worry about it. It shouldnt be a problem
I agree. Maybe I should just postpone my dat until mid July then since my app would be past June anyways?

I don't have any experience with a situation like this, but maybe call or email the Texas schools and ask what they would consider you.

I was wondering if someone could answer a question. It seems that the way we deliver the LORs through interfolio is different now but based on your experiences, how long did it take for Interfolio to send the LORs to AADSAS? Thank you in advance.

I am in the same situation. I said that I was a New Jersey resident, although I am not a permanent resident here yet.

I'm studying abroad and conducting research this summer. Can I put down the number of hours I expect to invest for the professional experience total number of hours? In my description I used future tense to indicate that at the time of submitting my app (hopefully in the next few days) I haven't, but certainly will earn these hours by the end of July.

You aren't technically supposed to list future activities.
