I'm accepting my UCC offer. (The deadline was March 31st for anyone wondering about the timeline). DM me if you're also going! I'd love to start to get to know some people in the program 🙂
I am this close to accepting it as well. Are you waiting on RCSI, UCD?

hey guys, I recently was accepted to the RCSI GEM program which is super exciting, my deadline for offer is March 29th, but I am still waiting to hear back from some other programs and I may not hear before the 29th. Does anyone know if you can extend your decision timeline and if so any advice for doing that???

Congratulations on your Offer!
When I received my offer letter from TCD it specifically mentioned "The amount of the deposit and the date it is due are not negotiable".
They do this because as soon as someone accepts/turns down their offer they would move to reviewing the second round offers. Otherwise it might take months for someone to accept their offer and they might turn it down at the last moment.

If you were to be doing an interview, probably. Ik AB did that with students who interviewed w RCSI after getting an offer from UCD

yeah I definitely understand that! thanks for the information. Do you its not even worth to ask to extend? I just interviewed with a US school and will hear back in two-ish weeks so not sure what to do!!

That’s a great question... I’d imagine it couldn’t hurt to ask you AB advisor, the worst they can say is no 🤷🏻‍♂️

Best of luck, hope you hear back soon!

You can definitely give it a shot! Email AB and explain them your situation, and you can request them for an extension. I dont think you have anything to lose if you ask them.

Good luck!

Hey-

it might be early to discuss this but what are people thinking about living accommodations in Dublin? I saw that new thing called Scrape, seems cool. Apparently RCSI, UCD & Trinity students can live there. I am thinking of that or living on RCSI Campus.

I welcome any thoughts/opinions on it!

I’ve been looking at accommodation for a while near all the schools I applied to. It makes me worried to see how few are listed as pet friendly.

Hi everyone! I received an offer for RCSI's 5 year program and I was wondering about the accommodations. Is it mandatory to stay on campus for the first year and I'm guessing we pay for residence soon after we accept right?

And subsequent years it’s mandatory to stay off campus?

Hello!

I’m in the midst of this process right now too! It seems as though it isn’t required to stay on campus or even in RCSI housing, although those accommodations might be a benefit to meeting people.

Being that there is limited space & its first come, first serve, you would probably have to apply and accept a housing offer from RCSI soon after accepting your admissions offer.

Hoped this helped! I am in the 5-year program too at RCSI, happy to discuss further!

Thank you very much! This definitely helped out, I am still waiting to get access into the RCSeye which I think has more info on how exactly to apply for housing but good to know that it's first come first serve!! I assumed that for first year I'd definitely have a spot on campus but doesn't seem like it.

Hi guys,
I'm not sure exactly how to go about this, but I'm looking to get in contact with a recent RCSI grad or someone going through the residency process trying to match back in Canada. This is something I'm really concerned about; my end goal is family med which I've heard is doable. If anyone knows someone like this in Ontario I'd really really appreciate it so I can chat about their experience and not only look at stats.
Thanks

What I do is look at their recent match listings. Then go to the listed residency’s website and look through their resident list. They usually have the resident’s medical school listed. From there you can contact them on LinkedIn or through their professional email if it’s posted on the program’s website.

does anyone know when TCD releases offers for GEM? also any current TCD students who can tell me what a competitive GPA is to get in? Or what most of their classmates had who got accepted? thanks so much

no, been super stressed while waiting. Do you think they'll release second rounds pretty soon?
I hope so it's soon, because I have to decide whether i have to pay the deposit for the UCC offer.

Guys, anyone else apply for 6 year program but end up getting an offer for a 5 year program at ucc that you never even applied to?
Yes, this has happened before! Last year there were a few people who applied for GEM programs and ended up getting DEM offers from UCC.

Guys, is there like an offer holder group or something for UCC class of 2026 5 year med?

Got an interview for UL next month! 🙂 Does anyone have any advice about the interview (ie. types of questions they ask, etc.) given the new online format?
Is this for their GEM program? And could you share your stats?

Wow. Can I ask why you aren’t doing North America with those stats?
Also applied to Canada. Waiting on 1 school there still. It’s ridiculously competitive (as is med in general, lol) - and would love to go to Ireland if things don’t work out there 😊

Anyone have an opinion about whether it’s too early to email Atlantic bridge asking for an update ..?
