Anyone else not recieve an email at all yet?
Just received a rejection letter for the 5th time. I am so discouraged with this progra
Received my date on April 16th last year. Got the invite March 20th, so it was a couple weeks later. Interview was April 29Does anyone know when we will find out our interview dates?
Last year I received an email with interview dates on April 17 for April 30. Times may vary thoughDoes anyone know when we will find out our interview dates?
Me too!!Just got an email with my interview time!! So I heard I got an interview on March 20th, and heard the time on April 8th, scheduled for April 28th. So nervous, this is my first time applying!
I'm not sure if they will ask the same questions, but I can tell you the questions they asked me last year. The interview itself wasn't too long - about 20 minutes or so, so they don't have time to ask too many questions.Do any past interviewees have tips for preparing for the interview/questions they might ask? 🙂
This is so helpful, thank you for sharing! The thing that gets me is that twenty minutes is quite short, and all of theses answers are so unique to the person interviewing. Did they give you feedback about what they liked/didn't like about your responses?I'm not sure if they will ask the same questions, but I can tell you the questions they asked me last year. Here is what was asked:
I think I was also asked about any hobbies or extracurriculars I have outside of academics, but I don't remember.
- Why do you want to become a veterinarian?
- What experiences have you had that have prepared you for a career in veterinary medicine?
- What do you think are the most pressing issues facing the veterinary profession today?
- How do you plan to contribute to the veterinary profession in the future?
- How do you stay current with developments in veterinary medicine?
Here are some additional questions I prepared for, but was never asked:
- What do you envision your career in veterinary medicine looking like in ten years?
- How do you plan to balance the demands of veterinary school with your personal life?
- Can you discuss a situation where you had to communicate complex information to someone unfamiliar with the subject?
- What do you think are the most important qualities a veterinarian should possess?
- Describe a veterinarian you admire and why
- What do you think sets you apart from other applicants?
- Can you discuss a time when you had to make a difficult decision? Can you discuss a challenging situation you've faced and how you handled it?
- How do you handle stress and pressure?
- Describe a time when you had to work in a team. What was your role, and what did you learn
There are, of course, other questions you could be asked, but I feel these cover most of it.
Hopes this helps!
When the acceptances, waitlists and rejections came out, I emailed to ask what I could do better, but they didn't give me feedback. So that leaves quite a lot to the imagination lol. This is so helpful, thank you for sharing! I think it's just as people accept, defer or reject. You could be pulled off as late as the end of the first week of classes for domestic students, depending on whether someone decides to refuse, drop out or defer their seats, but I'm not sure about internationals.Does anyone know when UPEI starts pulling from waitlists?
My daughter has just accepted an offer to join the Class of 2029! She would like to join the discord but the link has expired, any way to resend?Hey guys!! Since international students have received their offers by now, I thought I’d make a discord so accepted/waitlisted students can connect!! Especially since the Facebook page doesn’t usually come out til super late spring/early summer Join the AVC UPEI DVM c/o 2029 Discord Server!

How did it go? What kind of questions did they ask you? Hope it went well and best of luck 😁Had my interview today! It was 15 minutes and went by SO fast. They started it off saying if there was any technical issues like getting disconnected not to worry, and that they can schedule another interview incase anyone was worried about that
I think it went well, thanks! They generally wanted to see what I know about the field (like sort of what kinds of jobs a vet can do), as well as a time a mentor was challenged, and what I would do differently if I was in the same situation. It was actually really chill, I was so nervous though and definitely fumbled a couple questions. All 3 interviewers actually knew at least one of my references so it broke the ice a bit!How did it go? What kind of questions did they ask you? Hope it went well and best of luck 😁
Classic Maritimer moment eh? 😉All 3 interviewers actually knew at least one of my references so it broke the ice a bit!
