Most of my secondaries were turned in the first three weeks of August. I know its a little early, but for some its been about 6 weeks without hearing anything. One rejection letter recently, but for the most part silence. How long does it take to hear back?

For others looking at this thread, a few disclaimers, I'm a non-trad 34 y.o. white male, so not sure if the wait times are completely different for me due to my demographics.

It depends on the school. It is still early in the interview season. When it gets to around November, I would start emailing adcoms some updates or letters.

No such thing as an average wait time for interview invites. It's still early

I would have to say the real average would be around 1-2 months.

I've heard of some legends and tales of people getting interview invites in February. So you'll never know 😉

I'm in the same boat. I'm a 31 y.o. non trad with a 32R. Good grades and good experience, wishing i had more shadowing under my belt. I'm not quite done with all my secondaries, but am feeling a bit less energetic due to no interview invites. It makes me paranoid about recommendation letters or some of the minor mistakes on my AMCAS app. Oh well. I think if we stick it out a bit longer we'll be okay.

Similar situation here. It's been more than a month ~6 weeks for some schools since secondary submitted. Two rejections from Mayo (pre LOR request) and U of Chicago (about 2 weeks after secondary submission), other than that, nothing.

Depends on the school it seems.

4 interview invites so far:
-First one took about 6 weeks after submission of secondary (early July submit, mid-August ii)
-Second interview took a few weeks after submission (early August submit, late August ii)
-Third interview took 2 weeks (late August submit, mid September ii)
-Fourth interview took over two months (early July submit, late September ii)

So I guess it varies. I submitted relatively early for all of those though.

As a non-trad with average (to low) stats, I've been asking myself the same question.

It looks like its anywhere from 3 weeks to months. Its a long ride.

Init2winit. Let me know how things are going by PM. Maybe we can form our own support group? Any other non-trads interested?

Non-trad here too with no IIs. Hoping they're just saving the best for last

Don't forget a lot of MD schools have Early Decision programs. Normal applicants won't be getting looked at until around this time. So really this is when your file starts getting compared to others for interview invites.

Yep, this is pretty much where I am. 25 year-old white male, almost two years of full-time clinical research experience, 32/3.65 in a difficult major from a good school, applications completed throughout August, no interviews yet -- hope it's just early!

No worries, you got some good stats. You probably just have to wait it out a few more weeks
