Below is a description of one of the many extracuricular activities available to podiatric medical students at Azpod. As always, feel free to send me any questions/comments.
Cheers.

Judo tournament matside medical experience: AzPOD students who have completed physical diagnosis are invited to assist with regional and state judo tournaments as matside physicians under the supervision of our Medical Director and physical diagnosis course co-coordinator, Dr. Kent Myers. Injuries are not uncommon at these events, and students sharpen their physical diagnostic skills "under the gun" while also under supervision from Dr. Myers. Dr. Myers is also a fifth degree judo black belt and a former international competitor, so students also learn about the sport of judo during their matside time. AzPOD students normally participate in 4 judo tournaments yearly, and lastly participated in the Buckeye Invitational judo tournament in May, 2009.
