Interviewed on 2/24. Got the phone call last Wednesday (3/22). Anyone know when I can expect something in writing?

They send it to your permanent addy. So if you put your parents' address down, call Mom and Dad. They have it. And congrats. 🙂

....and don't get worried if it takes 'em a while to get that letter to you. Mine took a month, and I had to call them to see what happened. Apparently they don't like to send things quickly...

Also, the $300 tuition deposit (!?!) isn't due til May 15, so no need to worry about a 2-week deadline to accept your spot. congrats! 🙂

Congrats New Buddy! Expect your letter soon. I got mine six days after the call.

Thanks for the kind responses. I keep hearing such great things about the school. I'm already tired of telling people it's not in Waco 🙂 I can't wait to start! Anyone have big summer plans prior to?

Well, I am eager to begin (although once the works pile on I will regret saying this. This summer, I'll be doing research (can't pass up 4k) and getting married (interesting huh?). Well, that's about all. How about you?

JG198 - Getting married is just a little bit of a big deal!

I'm going to Europe for 5 weeks in May and June. Germany -> Italy -> Greece -> Austria then leave from Germany. The trip is coming together well, but if anyone has good recommendations on towns, or places to stay, I'm all ears. Everyone should blow off some steam before all the studying!

Hey I'm getting married this summer too! How's your future spouse taking the move to Houston (if you are moving?)

It took about a week for the letter to get to me in Cali, but it was a personal one, based on my application, and definitely the nicest letter (acceptance or otherwise).

Me too! I have started telling people I am going to Baylor College of Medicine IN HOUSTON so that I don't have to correct them when they ask me about my "move to Waco!"

Has anybody been offered any acceptances this week? Also, do any of you know when the admissions committee stop meeting regularly?

Wondering if anyone's heard anything from Baylor lately, whether it's rejection, waitlist, or acceptance?

Just wanted to know if there's been any post-interview activity lately...

I guess I'll go first.

Has anybody received a letter from BCM recently? I got mine - I'm on their alternate list. Since it's a thin envelop, I thought it was a rejection letter. I don't really care either way, actually.

Me too. Same letter. Ah well, I guess we will wait and see what happens.

If you don't care, why not withdraw?

Do you both live in Texas?

I DEFINITELY CARE and I don't see this as a lost cause yet. Either way, I feel it an honor to be at least waitlisted because Baylor is such a great school and it is highly competitive. If anyone wants to give up a spot, I would love you for life haha.

When did you get the letter??? I have yet to receive anything from them..hopefully something this week.

What does it say about the alternate list...any specifics?

Just received it today - it's dated april 5th. Nothing specific except that they say movements usually occur in mid/late May and early June.

It would be great to be accepted, but I wouldn't be miserably disappointed if I wasn't. Eventhough I'd like to attend, life's too short to spend time worrying about little things. The important thing is I've been accepted somewhere (one I also think is a great school). So, I'm happy either way.

And, yes, I live in TX.

When was it postmarked?

Sorry - I've already thrown the envelop away.

to you guys who have been waitlisted. Do you mind sharing your stats for the rest of us to know? Thanks so much.

What's your status and stats, baysouth?

Mine's certainly not as great as Dr. Giggles' - I saw your profile. You have excellent stats. Good luck. 🙂

I think my overall GPA was 3.83 with 4.0 for my junior and senior years.
BCPM GPA was also around that range.
MCAT 33 (9V, 12P, 12B)

In the past, what is the usual pattern of movement on Baylor's waitlist? Just trying to gauge how many people they normally accept off of the waitlist.

I'm waitlisted too 🙂 yay....
I wish they'd tell us our relative position on the waitlist (upper third, middle third, bottom third) so we'd know whether we can have a flicker of hope or if we should just move on and get excited about whatever other school we're in at. 'Cuz barring alien abduction of the entire class, not everyone on the waitlist has a chance.

Yeah, I am waitlisted, also...I wonder how long it will take for some waitlisted applicants to gain acceptance...Maybe next month? What do you guys think? Also, did Dr. Michael write a littel note on your letter, also? I think he felt sorry for me, because I had emailed him asking about my status...I don't know why else he did that...

Waitlisted in NC. Hey I'll take it!

Yea, I got a little note as well on my letter. Well, I guess its just a wait game for now. We should count our blessings for the place(s) we got in either way. Good luck to everyone. Ya'll are gonna be great doctors and I have no doubts about that in my mind.

Count me into the waitlist bunch as well....at least its better than being flat out rejected, so i definitely have something to be happy about.

Looking at the old waitlist movement thread it seems that most movement occured the mid- to end of may, which is somehwat promising and will hopefully ease the tension.

GL all. 😀

good luck everyone. Wow, seems everyone got waitlisted.

Not true! I haven't heard back since my interview early Dec. I called and they told me they're trying to get all letters out by next week. Doesn't look too promising. I'm praying for a waitlist letter....

Waitlisted in Dallas. Dr. Michael did write a note on my letter also. I was hoping it meant I was special, but maybe it was pity...?

Waitlisted here in LA...35R and 3.83 for whoever asked. I'm new to this thread, obviously, does anyone know how many were accepted/rejected/waitlisted?

I haven't a clue... I have a feeling that there will not be as much waitlist movement as in prior years, since they've moved up to the top ten...

Is there anyone who did receive a waitlist letter but not with a little hand-written note from Dr. Michael? Thanks you all.

That would be me 🙁

Wouldn't it suck if they just waitlisted everyone that interviewed?

yeah, me neither 🙁

Hmmm...maybe Dr. Michael felt extra sorry for those at the bottom of the waiting list, so he wrote us little hand-written notes...

Bah...i doubt it

I contacted the schools a couple of times to wonder what my status was and i sent an LOI and i got a little note and i believe someone else said they did something of the same.

Beats me....that would suck though

By the way.. I forgot to ask you all this. Do you all know anyone who got an outright rejection letter? I wonder if everyone who hasn't been accepted is on the alternate list, or some got actual rejection letters.
I called the admissions office a week or so ago and the lady told me that some rejections have been sent. But she didn't seem sure, and I think she was trying to get me a quick answer and hang up. Lemme know. Thanks.

YEEESSSS!!!! I'm on the waitlist!!!!! WOOHOO!!

When i called about letters even being sent out, she told me that they would be sending out status letters, either of being rejection or placed on the waitlist...so, i'm assuming that is all they sent out. i dont know a whole lot of people who applied to baylor and i dont know if anyone who got rejected is going to spread it on this thread.

Oh wells....i'm just excited to be on the list...lets hope i can make it in. 👍 👍 👍

Well, after not hearing anything from Baylor since my interview in October, I finally received a letter telling me I am on the alternate list. The good news for anyone else out there on the list is that I am going to withdraw, so that might make the chances of getting in at least SLIGHTLY better. I loved Baylor, and it's a shame I didn't get in. Good luck to everyone else!!

just to clarify... all the calls have been made to those accepted? I interviewed there in late november, and still haven't gotten a letter of any kind.

Yup, everyone as of now that is still waiting to hear has been either rejected or waitlisted...I wonder if anyone was even rejected (of those interviewed), though...Still no word, anyone??

waitlisted here as well... with a personal note 😎
I really am starting to think everyone interviewed and not accepted was waitlisted.
