You are very welcome. It's funny. You were busy getting additional certifications while I was busy whining about studying for ONE exam and reading articles like that explaining why it's harder for those of us who didn't do residency (and in my case stopped traditional practice many years ago). You clearly made better use of your time. That's awesome.Good point. Could be true! Thanks for the link to the paper. I never knew about this study!
I guess since they haven't posted the release schedule yet, bcps scores won't be released until next week ... ?The fact that the results are taking this long is absolutely insane. What on earth could be taking this long. It is an electronic exam with no essays or any writing of the sort.
I’m thinking the release schedule comes out today or tomorrow and bcps most likely come out next Monday /Tuesday. Last fall they started releasing the first results on Wednesday and bcps came out Monday for meI guess since they haven't posted the release schedule yet, bcps scores won't be released until next week ... ?
This is what I am hoping for as well. It usually doesn't take so long (based on review of past exam results release) but a factor to consider may be that they were a lot of applicants - possibly even more than usual as some people may have delayed testing due to COVID.I’m thinking the release schedule comes out today or tomorrow and bcps most likely come out next Monday /Tuesday. Pediatric usually one of the 1st ones out according to previous release schedulesAnyone here waiting on BCPPS results? I was so patient this entire time but started losing my mind this week with the wait. Seems extremely drawn out. Not sure what the timeline was in the past for the pediatric exam but either way it’s not looking promising for this week.
It's an electronic exam.. how does how many applicants taking the exam come into play here? I mean if it some how means I magically passed then whatever, but this waiting until the last possible minute before signing up for the fall closes is dumb. This is what I am hoping for as well. I'm thinking this too.I guess since they haven't posted the release schedule yet, bcps scores won't be released until next week ... ?
I hope that’s true this year as well. The wait is making me so anxious. Just want to move on already! LolPediatric usually one of the 1st ones out according to previous release schedules
I was only thinking about number of applicants because they curve the results (maybe evaluating all the comments submitted for questions and maybe even throwing out questions?). I'm honestly just hypothesizing to reduce my anxiety! Again, this just goes back to our previous discussion about the lack of transparency with the results. I am just so over the waiting like all of you 🙁It's an electronic exam.. how does how many applicants taking the exam come into play here? Yeah but they had released an exam schedule 1 week prior on 11/18. My result was posted on 11/23 2 days prior to that email. Since the release schedule is not out yet it’s highly unlikely they will just start releasing scores todayIn Fall 2020, last cycle, this email came out on 11/25/20 around 1-2pm; while the email says rolling basis, the MyBPS account of a BCPS exam taker at the time of the email already had the score report, I am hopeful for results today!

Ah, I didn't know there was a schedule posted prior... hopefully soon then!! Thank you for sharing dates for a potential parallel timeline for this cycle!Yeah but they had released an exam schedule 1 week prior on 11/18. is 500 the passing score ?? This looks much lower than in the past years ??The status is still: eligible
nothing has changed
Jesus please give me a 500!
Can't blame them, BPS employees are allowed to have fun too before the Delta strain takes over the country.Maybe one of these folks are on vacation and that's yielding delays!

I looked at this a week ago and the numbers didn’t correlate, so it’s likely more related to dues not being paid. The total number changed the other day and looking back I think it actually decreased, so again, probably people not paying dues.1 interesting, probably irrelevant, observation I made is that if you go to “find a board certified pharmacist” and look separately at the 2nd and 3rd links. The large table vs if you count the # of pharmacist listed for a given specialty in a given state have discrepancies. Higher numbers in aggregate table vs number of actual names. 🤷🏻♂️ Which probably is related either to people not paying dues and thus don’t get name listed, or they have results for this session tallied, just not released. Things you do waiting 60 days for an exam result..
All these interesting things can be discovered only while we are waiting for the results. 🤣1 interesting, probably irrelevant, observation I made is that if you go to “find a board certified pharmacist” and look separately at the 2nd and 3rd links. Ya 500 is passing. Not sure if lower than previous, but I don't care how I pass as long as I do at this point.is 500 the passing score ?? This looks much lower than in the past years ??
If you are too busy to study are you too busy to keep up with the certification? The real work begins AFTER the exam, Of course if you just wanted four letters after your name then that's a different story. In any event, I wish you the best on passing.I don’t care whether is it 501, just let me pass cause I really don’t want to study for this exam again!!
Too busy!! And I am getting married next year!
Nothing wrong with that. Hopefully it happens for you.I just want that 4 letter for now.
For your other certifications, are you choosing to take the recertification exam or the continuing education option? If you are too busy to study are you too busy to keep up with the certification? CE all the way. That's how you really learn. I do every recert possible. I'm a bit sick in this regard. Everything from ACCP and ASHP is on the table, and when I eventually pass the BCIDP (hopefully I did but I'd be shocked) then I'll do SIDP stuff as well. I should easily break the 300 hour mark for CE this year. Pretty crazy. For your other certifications, are you choosing to take the recertification exam or the continuing education option?
I thought you can only do a certain amount of ce per year..?CE all the way. That's how you really learn. I do every recert possible. I'm a bit sick in this regard. Nevermind! I just read on the website they removed that restriction!I thought you can only do a certain amount of ce per year..?
Wow,, That is super low. Was the test really hard or something this time ?? LOL. I don't get that. When i took it i know it was much higher than that somewhere in mid 500 range. That is a shame they are passing people with that low of a score 500.Ya 500 is passing. Not sure if lower than previous, but I don't care how I pass as long as I do at this point.
What was the passing score before? Also we dont know how they are actually grading these exams. 175 question and the scoring is 200-800 so go figure on what they consider passing. And to your question, I cant speak much except the BCIDP exam, and the exam was difficult because the questions didnt match the materials or how one would even practice. The questions were so off the rails, might as well have gone in blind.... It was not at all what I expected from a professional exam.Wow,, That is super low. I know you guys studied hard and i want you guys to pass but still 500 is low score,, man. This is Why i have always said this Board cert Exam for pharmacist is a sham and is NOT reflective of true clinical ability of a particular hospital pharmacist.
This exam needs some serious overhaul. Like adding Verbal exam in addition to written exam. similar to waht physicians do. Ok then international people can't fly over and do this as easily,,, So what,,,,,,,,,,,, what does that matter
I just dont understand this at all. I dont have the motivation to study right now unless I didn't pass, but they arent giving us much time. I honestly cant fathom how this can take this long.Seems like this release not really in line with previous… I think we really don’t have a clue how they’ll do it this time around. Especially since they tell us nothing …
Yep. I noticed that they usually post the release schedule on a Thursday so hoping for *some* news this afternoon. If not, they really are making a joke of this 🙁Seems like this release not really in line with previous… I think we really don’t have a clue how they’ll do it this time around. Especially since they tell us nothing …
We pretty much HAVE to get our results next week. As per the candidate guide, scores will be released within 60 days from the close of the testing period 🙄 and 60 days is July 31.Does BPS always provide a results release schedule or is there hope they just post results? It’s Thursday and based on some of the previous comments it seems that without a schedule it’s unlikely we’ll even get results early next week.
I’m on the same page. At this point I’m panicking that if I have to retake the exam I’m not leaving myself much time to study meanwhile I can’t bring myself to do anything until I get a result. It’s misery…I just dont understand this at all. I dont have the motivation to study right now unless I didn't pass, but they arent giving us much time. I honestly cant fathom how this can take this long.
It’s so disappointing that we may end up waiting this long especially knowing all previous sessions didn’t have to.We pretty much HAVE to get our results next week. As per the candidate guide, scores will be released within 60 days from the close of the testing period 🙄 and 60 days is July 31.
YEP! THAT is the frustrating part. I get the candidate's guide says 60 days, but previous sessions did NOT wait this long at least within the last two years 🙁 Anyways, we are in this together. We are almost there! It’s so disappointing that we may end up waiting this long especially knowing all previous sessions didn’t have to.

Interested to know how long you have been practicing and what year you graduated? You're not the first pharmacist to call everyone childish on this thread so just interested to know if there is a common theme. It seems that older pharmacists seem to be very insensitive to the "newer" grads (I come across it in practice and now online) - even though one user perfectly explained that his/her job prospects are dependent on passing this exam. Also just wondering if you achieved your goal of improving the exam and elevating the profession as well. You are right that we took an oath, but I am not sure what the oath has to do with being impatient/anxious about exam results at this point.Honestly, i don't get all this nervousness. To me, it just seem childish, i am not you guy's parent but you guys all need to grow up a bit. When i passed this exam, it was only being offered once a year. I knew if i didn't pass, i would had to wait one more year. But it didn't make me nervous at all, my philosophy was, "so what if i didn't pass this time, i can just take it again next year" and i was already thinking more elevated thinking in terms of HOW can we improve this exam ? so that it will be more indicative of true test of clinical ability in real life patients so that We can become better clinicians so we can BETTER help our patients, that we all took the OATH to do. I passed but that in itself didn't offer me any relief or satisfaction at all.
PLEASE you all,,,, Remember your OATH... OATH you all took to do everything you humanly possible to help your patients. That is ONLY thing that really matters in your career. Don't ever forget.
I am an older pharmacist grad (2003) and I agree with you!Interested to know how long you have been practicing and what year you graduated? How'd that work out for you?and i was already thinking more elevated thinking in terms of HOW can we improve this exam ? so that it will be more indicative of true test of clinical ability.
100% agree. Can't even seem to get an interview. I'm hoping having the letters changes that.My favorite part of his post was
How'd that work out for you?
Trust me... I'm telling you the truth here.... If you don't have those letters behind your name or a residency. It is extremely difficult to get a job outside of retail. I was one of the lucky few who got a hospital job right out of school with no residency, and I've been at the right place right time having met the right people to get where I am at right now. But in order to further my career it doesn't seem to matter how good of a clinical pharmacist I am; if I don't have the 4 letters behind my name and the other candidate does, guess who gets the job.
