Again, and for the last time: I gave that poster the benefit of the doubt because he immediately and emphatically apologized for his post, acknowledging that it was over the line. That was actually a person who was venting and then realized he went too far, and publicly changed his behavior and learned from his experience. WTF more do you want?

Your repeated failure to grasp that kind of nuance explains why you think Jan 6th and some car dealership vandalism are equivalent though.

It is unfortunate, because I've thought you were one of the more reasonable people here.

So the people who were basically escorted in and given a tour and were thrown in jail for 2+ years deserved it?

Jan 6 was “mostly peaceful” by your standards. It’s too bad your side made it a big production and exaggerated 1000% and left out key evidence to try to throw their biggest political opponent in jail….. not to mention the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago where they raided Melania‘s closet. Thanks though.

It is exactly this kind of cognitive dissonance that makes these conversations so difficult.

I struggle to understand how a person could possibly view Jan 6th with such a mellow attitude, and I really do make an effort to see other perspectives.

Some people absolutely look like they received a tour. You see and hear on video guards walking them around and chatting with them. The most famous being the Viking guy. The people who assaulted law-enforcement should definitely serve time….and they did. How many years did the Viking guy serve for sitting in Pelosi’s chair and sitting in Congress? Nonviolent offenders were thrown in jail for years. So you GTFOH.

Trump deported a legal immigrant and US citizens with no trial, then refused to obey a unanimous Supreme Court decision. That's what a dictator does. You can unilaterally declare anyone you want an enemy and make them disappear. That's why due process is supposed to be a fundamental right. What would you do if they grabbed you off the street? You don't get any chance to defend yourself or prove you're not a criminal. And ICE is on record grabbing random people who aren't on their "list."

Gee, it's almost as if the previous administration let in over 10+ million illegals overwhelming all possible systems to get even a fraction of them out without making some mistakes. It's like you supervising 2-4 ORs vs 2-4 thousand ORs. Which situation will lead to inevitable mistakes? And the nerve of you to create a wide open border and then have the gall to complain about how the mess is being handled.

Well, that number is not true for one. But even then, the total number of deportation flights under Trump is pretty close to the last few months by Biden. So in breaking the most fundamental rule of democracy and modern government you haven't even actually accomplished anything.

And yeah, it's kind of a big problem for one person to have the power to make anyone disappear and break the law with no consequence. Read a history book about any dictator's rise to power.

The Washington Post reported on April 19 that District of Columbia Chief Medical Examiner Francisco J. Diaz found that Sicknick suffered two strokes nearly eight hours after being sprayed with a chemical irritant during the riot. Diaz told the Post that Sicknick died of natural causes, but “all that transpired played a role in his condition.”

That day, US. Capitol Police released a statement that read: “The USCP accepts the findings from the District of Columbia’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner that Officer Brian Sicknick died of natural causes. This does not change the fact Officer Sicknick died in the line of duty, courageously defending Congress and the Capitol.”

Four suicides: Four other police officers committed suicide in the days and months after the riot.

The first was U.S. Capitol Police Officer Howard Liebengood, 51, who had been guarding the Capitol for 15 years and was on duty at the Capitol on Jan. 6. He took his own life three days after the riots.

The following day, Trump ordered flags at the White House be lowered to half-staff in honor of both Sicknick and Liebengood.

Several days later, D.C. Police Officer Jeffrey Smith, 35, who was injured in the riots on Jan. 6, also committed suicide.

Smith’s wife, Erin, told the Washington Post her husband related to her the fear and panic he experienced the day of the assault on the Capitol, and that he was afraid he might die.

In defending the Capitol, Smith was struck on the helmet by a metal pole thrown by rioters. Later that night, his wife said he went to the police medical clinic, where he was prescribed pain medication and put on sick leave.

Smith’s wife said he “wasn’t the same” in the days after the riot and seemed to be in constant pain. After visiting a police clinic on Jan. 14 and being ordered back to work, Smith shot himself on the way to work, the Post reported.

Let's say I'm walking downtown and I see a shop with the door kicked in. If I walk in and start poking around that's still against the law.

You also clearly missed my post where I said that the severity of the sentences could easily be debated.

I saw the part where the interviewer said the graphics that were used to explain the symbols on his fingers were photoshopped. I couldn’t believe he said that, but then again it’s ABC. Supporting MS-13 over Americans is their thing.

Personally, I don't think refusing to do something you're able to counts as facilitating.

And two judges already ruled on this. He's not MS-13. He is legally allowed to reside in the US. That's the law. A photoshopped picture of random tattoos doesn't change that. MS-13 in particular is famous for requiring highly visible, clear signs of gang loyalty. Not generic weed and skull tattoos which every expert agrees are not signs of MS-13 membership.

BTW, there are only like 300 Tesla dealerships in the US, and they make up 1% of the vehicles on the roads. Nearly every dealership has seen protests and roughly 10 percent of dealerships have a report similar to the following:

Las Vegas, March 18: A person dressed in black shot at Tesla cars at a repair shop and ignited two of them with Molotov cocktails, police said. The word ‘Resist’ was spray-painted on the front doors of the shop.

South Carolina, March 7: A 24-year-old man allegedly threw five Molotov cocktails at a Tesla charging station in North Charleston, according to the Justice Department.

Portland, Oregon, March 6: At least seven gunshots were fired into a Tesla showroom in the middle of the night, according to police. Windows were shattered, and three cars were damaged. One bullet went through an office wall and into a computer monitor.

Boston, March 3: Seven Tesla charging stations in a mall outside the Massachusetts capital were set on fire, according to the Littleton Police Department.

Loveland, Colorado, late January and February: A woman allegedly attacked a Tesla dealer on multiple occasions, including throwing Molotov cocktails and spray-painting words on vehicles and windows, including the word “Nazi,” according to authorities.
