I'm not sure if I'd be up for it at this point, but then again I'm getting senioritis. You'd be your best judge of whether or not this would be a good idea for you. If you feel it's doable, go for it. If you NEED to do it to graduate within a certain timeframe, do it (i.e. cramming classes in to graduate undergrad before matriculation to ds). If there's no rush though, why not spread it out?

depends on what kinda student you are...

If you have natural habits to study last minute for most of your exams, I would suggest you stay AWAY from that load.

If your always reviewing / re-writting / or just reading the lecture a head of time, and spend your weekends wisely (EVERY WEEK) reviewing.... You'll do great, you can even load up another science.

My school offers a watered down "professional" student version of biochem that you can take. The op might have a similar thing going on. I should have taken it, but I went the harder route. idk why.

As for taking all the heavy classes at once, I did it a couple semesters (18 credits of upper bios along with anatomy). But I would listen to dental works, don't go for it if you don't think you can keep yourself from procrastinating.

I can't imagine the saturday night that I realize I have an orgo exam, biochem exam, and anatomy lab practical all on monday

Its doable. Biochem really is not that bad as long as you took bio, chem and ochem 1 its all review and application. Good luck.

You could easily get through biochem without taking ochem. A lot of people don't think it's necessary to take it in order. Also, a lot of schools don't always enforce pre-reqs, or they may be recommended, not required.

OP - Its doable, just not pleasant.

I am taking Biochem/Microbio/Genetics/Ecology-Stats all at once, and it is SUPER hard to near impossible to keep up with this. I will never again take 4 heavy science classes at once. However, I work about 25 hours a week, so take this with a grain of salt. I guess it really comes down to if you work or not. Do you work?

I say, if you work, DONT DO IT. If you don't work, it is doable and can be manageble for at least 1 quarter/semester. If you try this for a full year, you might burn yourself out. Also, the only reason I would consider such a class load is so that you could graduate on time. If this is not a concern, I see no reason to do it.

Also, I think O-chem would definitely help with biochem, but is in no way needed to do well (at my school at least).

I guess it'll depend on where you're taking the class (and as hellopeople noted which class you're taking) but biochemistry at my school would be impossible without a foundation in organic chem.

Side note, one semester OChem is a requirement for Bio 1A at my school so I suppose that reinforces the notion that the institution matters.

I took OChem I and Biochem at the same time (with permission from instructor since OChem I & II were prerequisites) and managed A's in both courses. But if I had to do these two with anatomy and physiology, I would certainly have compromised my grades in all 4 classes. It's suicide IMHO.
