Hi there,

I really need an advice ASAP. I am a student at community college and I am taking part of pre-requirements for pharm school there. This semester I am taking Principles of Biology with Lab. Today I checked with the University I am planning to take most of my science classes in and turned out that this class goes as "Elements of Biology", not General Biology. Does that mean that this Principles of Biology class will not suit my pre-requirements for pharm school? I am not sure which schools I will apply to, but definitely more than one. Some school says that you need General Biology I and II, and some just say Biology. What classes did you take?

Thank you

Biology usually refers to General Biology. So yes, that "elements of biology" is not going to meet the pharmacy prereq. You can always email each school to make sure.

Usually. pharmacy schools require biology classes that are required for biology majors. I do not think that principles of biology will count, but I would check with the individual schools and ask about this requirement.
