Hello!

I have 6 weeks for my Step 1 study plan. How often are people taking break days? And are you taking full break days or half break days? Does working with a study buddy count as 'break' time?

(I had classmates scoff at me for wanting to take breaks during a six-week plan...but I'd like to be sane during studying if possible. Thanks!)

I had just shy of six weeks to study and I took at least a full day off every week completely. prob a couple half days too throughout the whole six weeks

It all comes down to your person and threshold. I think the average person requires a break to be sane or to maintain performance and/or motivation. Some other people thrive off the momentum of not breaking.

Even more so, it depends on your definition of a break. I personally do 66-hour weeks = 6 x 10hrs/day (Sun - Fri) + one six-hour day (Sat). Saturday is my "break day," whereas some other people might take the whole day off. It's really up to you. And btw, those 10-hr days include "mini-breaks" for food, so the true study is probably closer to 8-9 hours.

I originally scheduled 1-2 days a week of "catch-up time". It would have been enough, but as time went on (and I spent more time on these forums), I started to find more and more study resources and started to do more and more practice questions... so I probably haven't had a break day in the last two weeks or so. I'm starting to feel supersaturated, so I'll probably take a day off sometime this weekend.
