Buffalo Waitlist Starting To Move!

I was told that I was in the "upper, upper third" on 4/21. Previous to that (before the list was changed to "alternate list") I was told middle of the top third. I didn't get a call or email, but this may be because it's still before the 15th. I bet you don't have to wait long 🙂 Good luck! Keep us posted!

I'm assuming that you're going to release your Upstate acceptance if you get into UB?? I'm on the Upstate waitlist, so I'm pulling for you at UB Anyone else develping an ulcer with these damn waitlists? And anyone have any info on the Upstate waitlists?????????

I'm not sure about how the waitlist is moving over at Upstate. I know a couple other people that have acceptances there that will be letting them go if they hear from UB. I read some posts from last yr about Upstate and they go through a ton of their waitlist. So, don't worry too much. I'm so annoyed with this whole process, and I'm trying to do my best not to think about it. I'm borderline hypertensive at this point If I get in, it will probably be awhile.

I was just wondering whats going on with UB wait list is there any movement this week? or is everyone waiting for the 15th, and whether anyone knows the method of contact after the 15th.

they are stil in the "middle of the upper third" of the list- they are sending snailmail letters to acceptees up until june 21st, after which they will only contact by LIVE phone call- meaning you have to be at your phone to talk to them or they move on to the next person on the list./... good luck

I just got off the phone with UB and they told me that they have only gone through 2/3 (66.7%) of the top 1/3. Movement doesn't seem to be going as quickly as last year. 🙁 Ugh..... I don't like this at all.

I only talked to the secretary, but she said that it slows down after May 15th. She said that it moves steadily through the first week of classes, but that there aren't too many big fluctuations from here on in. I didn't speak with Mr. Rosso, so maybe he would have some better insight.

As far as the secretary, I'm pretty sure that she told me that she's only been in the office for a year. She's probably not quite as in tune with the timing of the admissions process as Mr. Rosso. Also, if you look at last year's postings, they cleared the top third around this time (couple days earlier i think) and made it through the middle third around 6/25, so there is quite a bit of movement historically between now and when classes start. I'm in the bottom of the middle third so I'm hoping they make it as far as they did last year!!

I got my letter today!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm in!!!!!!! I am so excited. Just a little info, I was at the bottom of the top 1/3. Also the letter came by snail mail, and it was dated 5/18. I got it 5/20 and they need a response by 5/24. So I think that the list should move pretty fast with such a short time to response. Good luck to all still waiting!!! With the list moving this fast, you're all sure to get in 🙂

I called UB this morning (jeez... that sounds familiar). Mr. Rosso said that they are still in the very bottom of the top 1/3, but he was confident that they will be INTO THE MIDDLE THIRD THIS WEEK! He said two spots opened up this morning alone. YEY! If you're concerned about what's going on then you should call. It always puts my mind at ease. 😀

sycinnyc - i know what you are talking about. I sleep with my phone right next to my head every night (i know, the possibility of them calling in the middle of the night is zero, but it makes me feel better🙂 Plus Im vacationing in CA right now and constantly have to check my email and call home to see if anything came in the mail. Needless to say, this trip would be a lot more relaxing if I had an acceptance already 🙂 Hopefully it will al be over soon though

I called this morning and this is what I got:
- They're still in the bottom part of the top 1/3 (around where I am)
- the movement has been pretty sporadic so far with bursts of activity throughout (this probably explains the inconsistent postings of the waitlist movement so far) so it's hard to judge where it's going to end up.

My dad just called me and said he recieved a letter from buffalo and I have to let them know by 6/1...The timing of this letter is amazing, Today i had just given up on waiting and decided to retake MCATs and apply for a research position for next year, as a matter of fact i was working on several applications and my resume today...anyhow thanx to SDN for all the updates and Support.

i will put up the details later...now looking for apartments and roommates 😀 ...good luck to everyone waiting and don't lose hope.

Just wanted to say that I was waitlisted last year and I have no idea where I was on the waitlist because I really wanted to go elsewhere, but I was accepted the day classes started. So if you really are waiting for UB, you def have a good chance to eventually get in. Just wait...and enjoy your last real summer!

OK, here goes... and it's confusing. If you were to break the middle third into thirds, I would be somewhere in the lower portion of the new middle third. So, I'm in the lower portion of the middle third of the middle third. Think about it for a bit and it might make sense eventually HAHA. 😀

Hey everyone! I called UB this morning... well it was 6:00 am where I am, so that would be 12:00 pm Buffalo time. They said that they were in the middle of the middle 1/3. It put my mind a bit more at ease so I can actually enjoy the rest of my vacation. ALOHA!
