Hey I just submitted my PharmCAS in late November and I did give them a call about it. They said a little after the new year we'll hear from them again. Kind of wished I submitted earlier but I was waiting for a science professor recommendation. (which the professor is still working on it)

My PharmCAS gpa is around a 3.1 cumulative with academic involvement, pharmacy experience and a BS in Biology (May 2013). I really hope I get an interview.

Does anyone know if you can get selected for an interview before the recommendation that is missing?

No...you won't get an interview on till they receive the recommendation..
 
I just received an interview invite for Feb 7th. I hope that's not too late.

Hey!! Looks like we've applied to a couple of the same schools...LECOM is rolling admissions..so just like CU..the earlier the better 🙂
 
I also have an interview on Jan 10th, getting nervous!!

Yeah :/ I actually would have gotten an earlier date, but they didn't send me the supplemental for the longest time. I'm nervously waiting for CU, I interviewed 11/30 so I'm expecting a response soon.
 
When I was accepted, I interviewed in March and got my acceptance letter the next week, so it doesn't matter when you interview. If they call you for an interview, you've made it on paper, now you just have to not mess up in the interview. Good luck.

Hey FlavyFlav I'm glad I saw you pop up.. I've got a question. Does LECOM help set up rotations outside of the Bradenton area? I was planning on doing all of my rotations back at home if possible.. I just got off the phone with Lauren and forgot to ask her 😳

Quick question. I'm from Puerto Rico and i'm filling out my supplemental. This isn't very important, but i'm not sure what to answer in the ethnicity question. There's a couple of options so I'm not sure, there is:

Hispanic-PR (Commonwealth)
Hispanic-PR (Mainland)
Other Hispanic or Cuban

Since there's two PR options, I'm not sure if PR stands for puerto rico or something else ... Help?

My guess is that PR (Commonwealth) is if you're actually in/from Puerto Rico, and PR (Mainland) is if you are Puerto Rican but were born in the US.

I signed up on LECOM-B's sga site to look for roommates/housing but it seems kinda dead. Is there a better place to look for these things other than Craigslist?

I just decided to add LECOM-Bradenton to my designations. I feel so stupid since I have my Bachelor's and all the prereqs. I didn't even know about this school. ;A;

My GPA isn't calculated yet but I am confident that it's over 2.7 for both science and overall. If it isn't, I'm going to be a sad panda. I e-submitted for prior schools in December and I'm gonna pay the extra $50 this Friday when I get paid.

I wish I would have found out about this school a lot sooner. It would have been in my best interest to apply early since I tanked the PCAT. Ugh.
 
I just checked portal and said i was scheduled for 21st of February. I submitted my supplemental December 20th. Still haven't gotten an email about interviews. I checked my spam too.. Hmm

Does anyone know if students have access to the YMCA that's near LECOM?
 
I actually asked about this during the interview. Lauren said that there was not a gym associated with the school directly. However, she "seemed to think" (whatever that means) that there was gyms around town that provided LECOM students with discounted rates. She went on the say that she "seemed to think" the YMCA was one of the gyms that provided a student discount. However, she was not sure. We would have to call the gym ourselves. I work out daily, so not having a gym was a huge set back for me. I googled gyms in Bradenton (which there is a ton of them) and they have planet fitness and other various gyms that are open 24/7 at relatively cheap rates.... 15-45 dollars per month.

I know this is going to sound silly but a huge set back for me was no smoking on campus. I know I need to quit.. but gosh I hope I won't be burned at the stake for being a smoker😱 My college now is a "Smoke Free" campus but we all just huddle in corners away from everyone & nobody says anything.

If the schools had your PCAT score when they invited you for an interview, I would assume you don't have to do the essay.

Yeah, that is correct. If you took the PCAT, then you will not have to take the writing portion of the interview. I applied to both schools. I had a bad experience at Erie. Hopefully, yours will go much better!! Good luck.

I will say, the Fl interview was a completely different experience. It was great! I hope you choose Fl when you get accepted!!

Hi, sorry I saw this so late.

Anything inside Florida LECOM will help set up your rotations. We have people who go all over the state, and we have many site options to choose from. Outside of Florida is not supported by the school and therefore if you wish to do a rotation out of state you have to do all the leg-work yourself. Saying that, I know a couple of students in my class who did just that and it worked out fine for them.

Short answer, anything in Florida they help with, everything else will be your own doing.

The Y is expensive, even with the discount, at least when I first checked. Don't know about anything else in the Bradenton area. If there's a Youfit around, they're $10 a month, but the equipment is very limited.

Thanks! I love the FL campus. I visited it in June and that's where I want to go. Hopefully I'll find out something soon after my FL interview. The sooner I find out, the better!

Btw I read on here that you are from TN. So am I. What part?

Any tips on what to bring to the interview? All it mentions in the email is that we need to bring a photo ID. I wasn't sure if I should bring something to take notes.
 
When I interviewed I brought something to take notes and others did as well but some didn't. It's just up to you.
 
I'm thinking about adding some out of state schools to my pharmacy designations, considering it's almost the deadline should I bother applying?

^I'd go for it. I sent my PharmCAS 1/11 and did the supplemental today 1/25. I got the supplemental pretty quick with consideration that I sent it after I got verified.
 
Just had an interview here yesterday. It went well and it felt very relaxed. Everyone there seemed to have had a good experience. I've got my fingers crossed!

Thanks 😀. 3.96 gpa, 91 pcat, BA degree. My application was complete and mailed in late November, submitted the supplemental about 2 weeks-ish later I think. I got an interview invite in December for 1/24.

Bah. If anything, I think I have to worry. My stats aren't as appealing as yours. :/ anyways, congrats again.

Hey, you never know! I was mostly worried because this is a career change for me, and I don't have a back-up plan :laugh:.

Idk what your stats are, but during the interview session they said the average gpa of admitted students was about 3.4(?) and pcat was 49%. I've definitely heard of people with lower stats getting in too, so don't worry if you're below that. I hope you get an interview 🙂.

i have a feb 7th interview also, is anyone driving from the north florida area that wants to carpool?
 
I received an interview for the 7th but i will be flying to South University for an interview. I ended up rescheduling it to 2/21. This is the secnod Florida school to reply to me which is great (I live in Miami). I've had interviews and Nova, Lipscomb University, and as previously mentioned, have an interview on friday in South U. Leaning towards LECOM so lets hope for the best.

Yesterday I got an email telling me that my file is in Admissions Comitee in review process, do you know how much time do I need to wait for the interview invitation?
 
thank you! give the admissions office a call as soon as it says "decision has been made" on the portal. they'll be able to tell you before you get your letter!
