Hey everyone!
Just wanted to start a thread for the California DPT 2025–2026 application cycle. This is my second time applying, so I figured—why not make a space where we can all vent, support each other, and share tips along the way? Whether it’s application advice, interview prep, stats, school updates, or just general freak-outs, you’re welcome here!
As of today (8/18), here’s where I’m at with all the schools I applied to:
  • Chapman (both start dates): Waiting for interview invite (Chapman said they will probably send out in Sept)
  • USC: Waiting for decision (I heard from Heather Reynolds that admission decision come out from Nov to April 2026)
  • UCSF/SFSU: Waiting for interview invite (Current student said invites go out in Dec)
  • Samuel Merritt: Waiting for decision (admission decisions go out in Mid-Jan)
  • West Coast: Waiting for interview invite (Invites go out in Oct)
  • Western U of Health Sciences: Not even sure if they’ve received my PTCAS yet.
  • SCU of Health Sciences: Got Kira Interview. Hoping to hear back mid-September with an AD
  • University of St. Augustine – San Marcos (Spring start): Rejected
If you’re applying this cycle too, feel free to jump in! Share your school list, timeline, stats, tips and whatever you’re comfortable with. Let’s help each other through this wild ride!

I think you will be fine! A lot of the programs you are applying for have deadlines in Oct, Nov, and Dec. Also schools like UCSF don't have rolling admissions so applying early has no effect on your chances of getting in.

thx!! do you happen to know how long it takes to get it actually submitted? I read it can take up to a month so i was worried it wouldn't get completed on time if i submit mid sept for an october 1st deadline school
also, do you know if ucsf has more than just one essay question? I haven't started the cal state application so are there more questions there?

Anyone hear back yet for interviews and/or admissions decisions? I've heard some interview invites went out for Chapman and West Coast so far.

hiii, i got into USC and USAHS so far, the latter w a scholarship! i have an interview for chapman in 10 mins ill lyk how it goes lolll

I forgot to ask, what was the interview like for Chapman? Was it in person?

Thank you for the congrats, I actually just got my acceptance letter from chapman! It was a zoom interview, i was in a breakout room with two other applicants and two faculty. i don't know how much i can say except it was a fairly straightforward interview with the standard job interview questions just more hard hitting, and we had a group activity at the end, and the actual interview was rly quick like 30 mins! lemme know if you have other questions~
