Ok, so it seems like there are lots of people waiting for UCSF, but is anyone that applied early still waiting for the UCLA secondary? They received my AMCAS in mid July and I still have not heard anything. I got secondaries from Davis, Irvine, and SD really early. I'm pretty competitive, and have had an interview at Vanderbilt, so I thought I would at least get a secondary.

Anyone else in this boat?

I'm in that boat with you. I still haven't even received one from UCD yet, and I think both them and LA got my primary in early July. BTW i submitted it on the first week of June. I swear, this lack of love from the UC's are really pissing me off. 😡

I am going there too on 10/11. Got the news 9/21 and completed on 9/13. My experience with irvine is that they are really efficient unlike the rest of UCs. I received my secondary minutes after their confirmation of submission. The interview invitation didn't hold too long either.

its so random. my app was complete on 8/23...no word yet...its weird that you were complete after me and got an interview before me. even if im not interview material....why dont they just list my status as "rejected" instead of giving me false hope! argh!!!!! 😡

Yeah, the only reason secondary invites got sent almost immediately after notification of receipt of amcas is that Deep Blue did the screening.

I agree. This whole thing is very random. I didn't hear a thing from UCSD. I guess my experience with irvine is nothing but luck.

Yep, you're not alone. They are pretty slow in releasing interviews. I would rather see "pending" than the deadly "hold" though - that can go on forever. I keep on hoping...

I had my AMCAS complete in early July, and as far as UC's go, I have ONLY received a secondary from UCSF!!!!! Every other UC has not even given me a secondary yet. Is that wierd or what? I thought for sure the secondary I would not get would be UCSF's. I'm crossing my fingers for the others! I Swear, this process is sooooooo wierd. And UC's are sooooooo slow.

Congrats on the secondary, but that is strange. I'm sure you will get more, since UCSF is so selective.

i scheduled all of my interviews east of the mississippi together and will be gone for half of october. do you think it's necessary to email the UCs and let them know that? i remember on most apps i had to fill in when i'd be unavailable to interview.

the difficulty of admissions to california schools was the overwhelming theme i got from reading those countless 'how many schools should i apply to' threads, wherein people's estimated number jumped by ten+ if the o.p. was a california resident.

mine says the exact same things as yours...i think they send the real things out snailmail..b/c that's what they did for secondaries too, right? hopefully in a couple more days we'll get a nice letter or something. 🙂 g'luck!

i think its a real interview invite. They first post to your status page before they actually send out the snail mail letter. I was complete since last week adn dont have a curent invite on the status page.

All I have heard about our class is that they had over 4100 applications for the 93 slots. Good luck with your interview. It's pretty low key and you can find most of the questions they used last year by reading the interview feedback.

FYI-I submitted my AMCAS in June, and I haven't received a secondary from UCSD. I called them to see what was up with my app. The woman said that I was put on hold for a secondary and will be reviewed in a couple of months. Just in case people haven't gotten a secondary from UCSD and submitted their AMCAS a while ago. This may be the case...then again, maybe it isn't! Always hope for the best.

the number interviewed seems rather small to me... i would think they would interview almost twice that number for a school the size of ucla.

Congrats! Good luck! Hmm, it's strange, I know interviews have started but I haven't seen people in suits walking around yet. If you have some extra time, go check out some of the beaches...and you can even rent some equipment and go snorkeling.
