Thanks ma peeps!!. To "IDreamPharmacy" Cali is such a great school, and I like d fact that I can help build the school since its new. I have 2 other choices, but I think Cali is most likely my first choice 🙂
I am Yoruba by the way.lol

also...Is anyone worried about any CNCP's financial situation? and not being acredited?

I'm still waiting for the call to get accepted ( or not ). In the letter, does it tell you if the deposit deadline is two weeks from the dated letter?

I just got the official letter in the mail today. It doesn't give any info about anything, but I had emailed Gail and she said that we would be receiving the enrollment confirmation, enrollment agreement, etc. this week.

They took 3 weeks to give a response. They call to notify you that you got in, and also send you an official letter in the mail

For now there are two types of loan for CNCP student. Sallie Mae depends on your credit score or your cosigner (the higher the score the lower the interest). The other loan is called Ed South which is a flat 5% interest rate, this one do not depend on your score that much.
At least you guys only need to worry about private loan for 1 year.
I think the school will get accredited. Rumor has it the school just got approved to expand to offer an MD program soon. Probably won't affect you guys, but the school is moving to a different location 3 years from now.

I got the background check consent request last friday too. Did anyone who got that e-mail get a call yet?

I got that form on friday too...and I released it to be sent on monday. I am hoping on wednesday they should tell me something. After the criminal background check, hOw long did it take for them to get back at u about getting accepted?

to be honest, i am worried about not being able to qualify for loans.
I'm not certain if I have enough credit score (nor do I know my credit score) to be able to take out so much loans.

I think u will be ok!! I am jst worried about the school not having enough reputation and we might not be able to land a job easily after graduation. And I really hope they get accredited this year

Where did you hear this rumor?

There's no way a brand new school that isn't even accredited yet will get approved for an MD school. They might be able to get a DO school down the line, but not MD. UC Riverside is in the process of setting up their MD school. http://www.lcme.org/newschoolprocess.htm

It's just preliminary talk within the school. Of course the process for MD program has to wait a while.

@Ehm1:
Thanks for sharing your insights and experience as a student at CNCP. I am glad to know that everyone is being prepared well for the board exam and in real life practice. Is there any news about CNCP getting accredidation?

Thanks.

Hi gotfloss, we were actually visited by WASC late last year and will be hearing about how that went sometime this year. Otherwise everything else is looking good still, they usually notify us of the next step in the process and right now nothing else has come up yet.

It's true. If the particular city approves a permit, the medical college might be opening in 2012 at the new location. Then the pharmacy school will transition there in 2014.

If this happens, it'll be only the 4th city in the state of Cali to have a medical and pharmacy college 👍

The move actually makes a lot of sense if you understood our curriculum. They are really trying to push us out of the old traditional pharmacist role and become more active in maintaining patients' health care. They see the benefits of physicians, pharmacists and other health care providers working together for the benefit of the patient. Pharmacists are the ones who are available to follow up with patients after they see their doctors and are more easily accessible. Physicians are way too busy and don't have time! So having a school with both would make sense, no? Build the relationship between health care professionals. I hope the city approves the permit, even though I'll be gone before the transition of the pharmacy school.

If you knew about the professors/staff of Northstate, you'd see why they could easily make it happen too. ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$)

Northstate students are representing quite well too, beating out students from other pharmacy schools for internships, pharmacy competitions, etc. The team based learning program is definitely tough but you will learn the material. Lots of blood, sweat and tears  ... be ready for it and good luck to the rest of you.

My interview was back in August, I did not apply early decision but I heard back from them within 2 weeks with my acceptance letter! 🙂

Do you know when and what area the school will relocate to?

HEY I'm from UCLA TOO! Will be starting this Fall 2011 See you soon!

I've heard rumors about them moving, but when I asked one of the faculty at my interview he said he had no idea that they were moving.

😕Hey guys,

So I'm guessing most of you are checking out Sallie Mae. I tried to apply, but the school is not listed and so it will not let me apply. Does anyone know the code for the school or what the school is listed under to actually get this done? Any advice? I've already contacted financial aid and they have not responded.

Paula😕

Guys Sallie Mae does not give out loans to CNCP....At least not yet. I spoke to sallie mae today and CNCP is not one of the approved schools they give out loans to. I dont know what CNCP has been telling us but the fact is there is no loan from sallie m. So we might as well start looking for other options. ED South is the only one that recognizes CNCP but as we all know, ur credit has to be really good and no-cosigner if uve ever had a credit card. Ive already applied to ed south and ive been turned down.
My real question is "IS IT ADVISABLE TO PAY THE $1500 WHEN THIS SCHOOL DOES NOT EVEN HAVE LOAN OPTIONS FOR STUDENTS"
That's weird. I remember reading the previous Northstate application threads and people were able to secure loans from Sallie Mae.

Hi, Anyone from the Feb 25th interview heard anything about their acceptance?
