Hello everyone,

I'm a 27 year old nontraditional ORM, and I'm currently on my 4th year of DIY post-bacc. I was born and raised on Guam, and I currently reside in southern California (specifically the Inland Empire). I started my undergrad back in 2015. I previously had a 3.0 science gpa, so I decided to go into the Clinical Laboratory Science program at Loma Linda University (I'm SDA). In the program, I had to take 4-5 upper division science courses per quarter and got mostly A's. Ultimately, I was able to raise my science gpa to a 3.34. I'm currently working at American Red Cross (ARC) Immunohematology Reference Lab (IRL) full-time and part-time at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC). I'm taking some science classes and hoping to raise my science gpa to a 3.4. I plan to take my MCAT next year, and I have no research experience. My goal is to go into medical school and hopefully become a Pathologist with a fellowship in Transfusion Medicine.

Here are my current STATs:
Major GPA: 3.64
cGPA: 3.5
sGPA: 3.34 (ADCOM) / 3.5 (AACOMAS)

Extra curricular acitivies:
Clinical Experience:
-500 hours responding to trauma level 1 protocols by going to the ER and helping out
-25 hours of phlebotomy

Volunteer hours:
-1500 hours from 2006-2019 from Guam. Went to the hospital in Guam to sing Gospel songs for the patients and do community service work like picking up trash at the beach or local park.
-50 hours of homeless ministry up in NorCal

Shadowing: Pathology (transfusion medicine): 200 hours

Other:
-Social VP for LLU CLS class: Organized events for fellow cohorts to socialize and bond
-Newton Hall Senator: tried to pass bills to make my dorm a better place
-Basketball Intramural: Led the league in PPG

Work Experience:
Waiter - Served at a pho restaurant for 5 months (Taught me how I love to serve others)
Kumon - Taught kids reading and math for 3 months (Taught me how to be patient, especially with kids)
ShareTea - Worked as a bobarista (taught me the important of working as a team)
LifeStream - Worked at an IRL that services underserved areas and hospitals around San Bernardino.
PVHMC - Work as a blood banker and train students that come from Loma Linda University
ARC IRL - Understanding and performing complex antibody identification work ups and recommending antigen negative units to doctors and other CLS to safely transfuse their patient

These are my current stats and hopefully I can add more to the list. What more should I do or focus on to make my application more competitive? I plan on applying to both MD/DO schools. I was wondering if anyone can give me a list of realistic medical schools I can apply to with my stats? I would really appreciate it if anyone can give me any kind of advice or constructive criticism. Thank you in advance!

If your Post-Bacc is mostly As you're probably in good shape for even mid tier MD. I think Pacific Islanders may be considered URM (correct me if I'm wrong) and you'll have an in at the religious schools. Shoot your shot dude, throw up T20 reaches if you want even.
