Hi everyone, I am planning to apply this cycle and would like to take DAT in early July. I am going to use Ari's study guide and just try to accelerate it a bit. I recall almost all gen chem and bio from UG so I think that may help me. On the other hand I am weaker in organic so will take time there. I just gave up my job to study full time so I can put in 8-12 hours days. I would appreciate any input from those who have taken the exam--do you think studying 8-12 hours a day for 8 weeks is adequate to get a solid score? I am not trying to blow the exam out of the water. Shooting for a 21-23 AA. I fortunately did well GPA wise and finished with a 3.83 so I am not in a tough predicament where I need to do anything heroic on this exam--I feel that would be a daunting spot to be in. Also if anyone has any advice on methods or strategies to doing a more compressed study schedule I would appreciate it and love to hear. A friend of mine who studied for 4 months while working and taking some classes felt that my schedule is favorable to his as he felt the exam is a ton of memorization and he began to forget content he learned at the beginning of his studying--so he essentially told me my schedule is ideal and he wishes he had it. On the other hand I feel he is really smart and might learn at faster pace than I, or he is just looking at is as "grass is greener" type thing. I am starting studying today btw. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yes I just got a 21 AA 24 PAT in a month in the middle of the semester, if you put in the work you'll be fine.

TLDR but 8 weeks is more than enough time. I've seen people get great scores studying for 6 weeks & 3 weeks. So that should tell you how much time you really have.

My friends and I did it in 2-3. Don't stress out about 8.

Thank you!!! This is great!

I'm using this as well. THANK YOU !

You're welcome. Note that this schedule is based off of ~10-12 hrs day 7 days/wk for 6 weeks. If there's anything you want to clarify about the schedule, make sure you ask me now. My schedule's brutal, but it works. Good luck!

follow this man's advice!! in fact bombard him with PMs everytime you get stuck!

By this point I'm just preaching to the choir, but yes it's definitely possible. I took it after 6 weeks of studying, and in the end I wished I'd done it in less time because I was starting to forget things. (I got a 24 AA). Just make sure you actually stick to your schedule and don't fall behind.

8 weeks is enough time to prepare, considering you've taken all these subjects before.

This can be condensed into 8 weeks and if you put in the work and follow the program, you will get a 21-23 AA, no questions asked. If you go 7 days a week, you will probably only spend 6-8 hours a day on this, not 8-12. The schedule will have to be re-calibrated for your time constraints, but it takes the guesswork out of what to study and when. Very simple, just follow it, put your head down, and work. I loved using it.

Best of luck. The area near UDM is not nearly as bad as the Detroit the media likes to shove down people's throats.
Did you take the full 12 weeks when you used it?

Did you take the Chad's quizzes after each section? And what did you do for QR review?

I only watched Chad's OC/GC videos. Yeah, I did Chad's quizzes after each section.
For QR review, I did Math Destroyer, but only did 2/3 of it because the concepts behind the questions were repetitive and I was confident.

I only had 1 1/2 weeks to study and got a 20 AA.... Trust me 8 weeks is a TON of time to study!

Thank you for sharing your schedule!! I'll use it!!!

I took the DAT during the middle of the semester. I was cramming hard during spring break because midterms were happening as soon as school started again. I used the whole week of break and the weekend before and after then took the test Wednesday the next week. I ended up getting 24 AA. My major does not even relate remotely to pre-dental so I was lost when I began studying. I do agree with your friend. As I was cramming I already started to forget some information I reviewed at the very beginning, and I only did this for about 2 weeks. That being said I don't recommend only using the 2 weeks I did, I studied really hard 12+ hours a day so I could do well. I think having 8 weeks is nice to begin steady reviewing but save up a lot of time a couple weeks before you test and really dig in. The couple weeks are the time to commit to memory the details to get a good score.
