Is there any hope of still getting an interview invite at this point??
😕

I've gotten two interview invites (SUNY Downstate and Albany Medical College) within the last week.

Yes! I just got one to Tufts today (with an abysmal science GPA to boot).

yes, there are still 3 months of interviews left at many schools. How many schools have you applied to that you haven't heard anything from?

I'm in the same boat. I'm hoping more interviews are coming, but in the meantime I'm preparing a contingency plan for next semester (read: tough classes). ugh.

I'm still sending out secondaries, quit worrying

applied to 24 schools
interview : 4
reject : 1
on-hold : 2
haven't heard : 17?? Where are you? I need some love here.

I'm still holding on to Duke secondary 🙁 It's too long and too hard.

😱 😱 Get those done as soon as you can. It may be time for a just a little worry. Just enough to get you to send those out.

Yes, there is still hope. Since you didnt post any stats, not sure where you might stand. If you feel their low, maybe you should start thinking about retaking the MCAT if your dont hear back by say the end of Jan and prep for an april or may MCAT. Not sure all the new dates you can take the test now.

Good Luck!

OP, there is definetly time left, and the later in the season, more interview spots offered are passed up because people have been accepted at their top choices already. Don't fret yet!👍

I have only been on 2 interviews (out of 12 applications, with 3 rejections so far). So I am definitely hoping for some more invites soon. However, I have been fortunate in that those 2 interviews were at two of my top three choices. We'll see how it turns out.

I knew people that got interview invites in April last year. Plenty of time between now and then to check your email/mailbox 100x a day!

Just got one from Case Western, my 1st invite 😍

I expect to get a few more throughout January.

Don't sweat it. You can get an invite from now until all the way in February and even March and beyond! 😵 It depends on how desperate schools get for students to fill their class. But who am I kidding, we are the desperate ones here =(

For applicants that took the August MCAT or for some reason we later in submitting their applications, I can see how there is still a good reason to be hopeful about interview invites in the future. The schools, after all, are probably just getting around to reviewing those applications

But what about those of us who submitted early? The schools we applied to (but have not yet gotten interviews at yet) have certainly at least been through our applications once and decided not to interview (or to 'hold' off on an interview decision).

What do you think is the likelihood that adcoms will offer interviews to early applicants that they've already reviewed but not given offers to?

There should be a large amount of applicants who got at least 1 acceptance so most likely they will cancel some interviews or withdraw their applications from further consideration. That should open up more interview slots for others. In conclusion, yes, you can still expect interview invites!

31S, 3.6 GPA(lots of W's)
1 publication(2nd author) 1 pending publication(1st author)
5 years research experience
small amount of clinical experience
Graduated in 2003

22 secondaries written:
6 rejections so far
1 interview(for the only MD/PhD program I applied to)-still no word on acceptance
1 hold
4 lectures today from my co-workers saying I should just go to grad school
1 lecture on how I shouldn't have concentrated on research so much in my application and should have focused on clinical work

My boyfriend got a call from one of his top choice law schools last night around 9:30 pm. They had JUST finished reading his application and were so excited about it that they are offering him a full ride. He applied three weeks ago-no secondaries or interviews involved.

The medical school application process is so difficult!!!!

God I know! I get nervous for the seemingly strangest reasons now!! Like first thing in the morning when I am going to check my email, when I have gone a few hours without checking my email, or the worst-----driving back home, getting out of the car and opening the mailbox.....my stomach hurts.
