....refrain from name calling?

I realize that I'm not the most experienced person here, and some of my threads have been out of the spirit of this forum. Some of you may not like that.

I'm sorry.

Some of you may even hate me as a person.

I don't care.

But, as our internet journey continues forward, can we please refrain from using terms such as: jerk, ass, asshat, dingus, ******, ********, idiot, or douchebag?

It's just plain unprofessional.

If you don't want to be name-called, saying things like this:

If this is the way attendings treat people they don't know, in a public place, it's no wonder you are all being replaced by CRNAs. Don't you have some charts to sign?

isn't the best way to go about it. Also, in case you hadn't noticed, you're on the interwebs now. The interwebs is a hostile place. This isn't an attending thing, or an anesthesia thing, or even a medicine thing. There are undeniably some buttholes in medicine, for sure, but there are more so on (semi)-anonymous internet forums.

In all aspects of life you have to learn how to sort out the useful information from the chaff, and there has been plenty of useful information in your threads. You just have to learn to appreciate it and let the other stuff go.

And maybe not talk so authoritatively on subjects in which you have no expertise, because that's what's getting you all the flak. Just because you've watched Mariano Rivera close out a few games, don't think you are qualified to give him pitching advice.

Best of luck in your endeavors.

Of course, you are right about the internet being a hostile place, but that doesn't stop one from wishing for the return of civility and gentility to our society.

I applaud the OPs plead for a small step toward that civility.
