A couple of Qs.

1) How much lead time is considered appropriate if you are gonna cancel interviews?

2) I assume email is better am I right?

Lead time - as much as possible, more to give others a chance.
Email is fine if there is a lot of time (now for an interview in Dec.), but for an interview next week, call them.

Turtle, I was thinking like is 2 weeks enough lead time or 1 month? Whats the unofficial cutoff time for that sort of thing. Obvioiusly this is a question without a great answer but seeing as you have been through this recently I am wondering about your thoughts.

Sorry mate, I never cancelled an interview. I changed a few dates, and always way ahead, but that was more to make sure I could get an open spot. Since you are not going to the places you cancel, it probably doesn't matter for you. It is more to give others a chance. But I would suspect that at least a couple weeks is appropriate. Others may have better advice...
