R2 AMG (DO) at university-affiliated program in NY. Letters are good. Have 1 pub and 7 or 8 abstracts. Heard about Sinai last week and heard from St Vinnies yesterday.

This process just baffles me.

I am FMG, did my residency in a university program. I have 2 publications and one abstract but no interviews so far !...6 rejections ! any one in the same boat ? please share your credentials .

Lots of movement yesterday, all bad 👎

Rejects from UCLA, U Mich, Hopkins, Arizona

So far 10 interviews, 10 rejections, yet to hear from 20 programs. I'm guessing by this point I will more likely get rejections than interviews.

dadr, I don't think that's necessarily correct. Most programs send out interview invites in Feburary. From what I've heard from soon-to-be fellows at my residency program, you get most of your rejections before most of your interviews.

So, if that's the case, then you're in pretty good shape 🙂

You probably didn't get the UCLA and Ohio State IVs because they think you wont go there... which makes sense unless you've got a non-academic interest in the region...
