Anyone hear from the school yet?
If you've sent in your written confirmation and you've withdrawn from all of your other acceptances, you should be set. You can keep holding on to your waitlists up until the first day of orientation. I'm not sure how long you have to decide if you're accepted off a waitlist. I withdrew from all my waitlists last year, so this wasn't an issue for me. You might want to call the admissions office and ask. Probably you'd have a week or two.Do we need to notify them again before the 15th if we are planning on attending? Or is the initial letter of confirmation we sent in all we need to do?
...Also, what if we get in off another schools waitlist between april and july... how long do we have to make a final decision? THanks again.
Sorry things turned out that way, DrHusky. Good luck. 🙂Alright, I just opened up a spot for someone at CCLCM. I was accepted back in November, but have fought continuously with the administration to allow me to miss time for pre-existing commitments in July (.....this would have meant missing seminars that could be recorded....).
Anyhow, best of luck to anyone attending!
Is there anyone else out there who hasn't received ANY response after the interview?
Does anyone know if they call you regarding an acceptance, or do they let you know via snail-mail?
Thanks. I did call, and my March 30 "Hold" letter was sent, but I never got it. They did say not to expect to hear anything until the week of May 7.I interviewed at the end of february and I didn't get my letter until monday, April 16th and it was postmarked the 30th of march. At this point, I would probably call the office to see what is going on as I interviewed on the second to last day (at least that is what they told us).
Week of May 7th is what I heard too. Arg. I'm really interested to know what their process is post April 15th...
yeah me too...my guess is that they have started to accept people off the hold list and by may 7th the class would be full...? dunno...i was really looking forward to april 15th...grr...
just out of curiousity, have any of you hold folks sent financial aid applications to CCLCM? Or are we supposed to wait til we hear a decision?
Well, if you're right, let me know if you hear anything before then.
Last year, Dean Franco called us. As far as I know, they're doing the same thing this year.Does anyone know if they call you regarding an acceptance, or do they let you know via snail-mail?
It takes some time for them to hear back from everyone who has already been accepted. Some people don't respond at all, and the office has to contact them individually and find out what their plans are. Some people ask for the deadline to be extended for a week or two, so they don't respond right away. Anyway, it's almost time, and I hope you guys hear good news soon!Week of May 7th is what I heard too. Arg. I'm really interested to know what their process is post April 15th...
The class isn't "official" until the first day of orientation in early July. I know for sure that at least one of my classmates and one person in the class ahead of me were both accepted in June. It's not common, but it happens.yeah me too...my guess is that they have started to accept people off the hold list and by may 7th the class would be full...? dunno...i was really looking forward to april 15th...grr...
When you fill out your FAFSA, you can list up to six schools for free. You don't have to have been accepted to submit your financial info to CCLCM or any other school. If you think you might attend a school, it's a good idea to send your info to them now. That way, your file will be all ready to go once you make your final decision. You don't want to have to be scrambling to get financial aid paperwork done at the last minute if you can avoid it.just out of curiousity, have any of you hold folks sent financial aid applications to CCLCM? I called them earlier today and they told me letters were sent out. I didn't make it. good luck to you all!🙁

ejk4eva, are you sure there isn't any hope left? I mean, just because you haven't gotten a letter doesn't mean you're not on the hold list. Did they tell you your status over the phone? Maybe I'm a little confused...
I have somewhere to go, but other schools that I got accepted/waitlisted has no good research program. I am just disappointed cuz I felt that my interviewers at CCLCM understood that I was interested in becoming a physician investigator and they also told me that they think I have very in depth research experience. I have five years of research experience with master's degree but no paper published... I feel like it's kind of end of my research experience...
I just thought it would be much easier to become what I wanted to be if i got into cclcm. if I go to other less research intense school, I feel like I have to spend extra 2~3 years of research fellowship instead of extra year at cclcm. I am just purely disappointed cuz now I have to think whether I want to pursue research at all... 🙁
ps. I feel like I just dropped a bomb under this post. haha. I just decided to share my news so those who are waiting know what to expect. good luck to you all!!!! those who got in, I am really jealous...
2BMD,
are u located close to cclcm (geographically)?
I'm sorry ejk4eva. 🙁 But I just want to say that if you still want to do research, you can, at any school. Most if not all med schools have research opportunities for the summer after M1, and many will also let you take an optional fifth year to do research. If you decide to do that, you could probably do your fifth year or your summer research at another institution. There are students from other schools doing research and clinical rotations here, and it seems to be a very common thing to do. You already have your MS, so you might not even need the fifth year. If you really want to do research though, don't give that up. Look for people you want to work with wherever you'll be going. I've always heard that the PI is more important than the institution anyway. Good luck with school. 🙂I have somewhere to go, but other schools that I got accepted/waitlisted has no good research program.
