Do we need to notify them again before the 15th if we are planning on attending? Or is the initial letter of confirmation we sent in all we need to do?
...Also, what if we get in off another schools waitlist between april and july... how long do we have to make a final decision? THanks again.

Anyone hear from the school yet?

Nope, from threads from the last couple of years, I do not think that we might hear anything for the next two weeks. Good luck to all who are waiting!:luck:

If you've sent in your written confirmation and you've withdrawn from all of your other acceptances, you should be set. You can keep holding on to your waitlists up until the first day of orientation. I'm not sure how long you have to decide if you're accepted off a waitlist. I withdrew from all my waitlists last year, so this wasn't an issue for me. You might want to call the admissions office and ask. Probably you'd have a week or two.

I still haven't even gotten a hold or rejection letter from CCLCM. I have absolutely no clue as to what my status is there.

Maybe my rejection letter got lost in the mail?

That's odd, cureious. You should def call them to see what's up!

nope, but boston marathon was amazing!!!!!😍

I finally got my hold letter today. The thing was date 3/30 and postmarked 4/3. Somehow, it took USPS 2 weeks to get a small letter from Cleveland to Nevada. Hmmm...

Alright, I just opened up a spot for someone at CCLCM. I was accepted back in November, but have fought continuously with the administration to allow me to miss time for pre-existing commitments in July (.....this would have meant missing seminars that could be recorded....).

Anyhow, best of luck to anyone attending!

Thanks for letting us know, DrHusky! Bummer that they wouldn't accomodate you though. Best of luck wherever you've decided to go!!

Sorry things turned out that way, DrHusky. Good luck. 🙂

Hmm just called and was told that we will hear back the week of May 7th. More waiting I guess. Good luck to all.😀

Is there anyone else out there who hasn't received ANY response after the interview?

Is there anyone else out there who hasn't received ANY response after the interview?

I interviewed at the end of february and I didn't get my letter until monday, April 16th and it was postmarked the 30th of march. At this point, I would probably call the office to see what is going on as I interviewed on the second to last day (at least that is what they told us).

Does anyone know if they call you regarding an acceptance, or do they let you know via snail-mail?

Based on earlier posts, it seems like everyone gets a phone call from Dean Franco.

Good luck! :luck:

Thanks. I did call, and my March 30 "Hold" letter was sent, but I never got it. They did say not to expect to hear anything until the week of May 7.

Week of May 7th is what I heard too. Arg. I'm really interested to know what their process is post April 15th...

the sad thing is, there are about twenty ppl who are in facebook group who are committed to going to cclcm... i wanna join them.. but i feel like i will never find out...

I also want to leave the country before going to med school, but because of cclcm, i can't even buy a ticket. rrrrrrrrrrr😡

oh yeah, my friend lives in cleveland and his apt becomes empty in july and august. he's waiting forever to hear from me...

just wanted to rant out...

Well, if you're right, let me know if you hear anything before then.

just out of curiousity, have any of you hold folks sent financial aid applications to CCLCM? Or are we supposed to wait til we hear a decision?

kbear12, I sent my FAFSA to them a while ago just in case I do get accepted. However, this may be unnecessary (and I never received an e-mail or notification from CCLCM indicating that they have received it). At OHSU, where I am on hold as well, they sent me a notification that they had received my FAFSA. I guess this reiterates the point that each medical school has its own unique ways of handling things. All in all, I am really not sure. I guess you could always call them?

Last year, Dean Franco called us. As far as I know, they're doing the same thing this year.

It takes some time for them to hear back from everyone who has already been accepted. Some people don't respond at all, and the office has to contact them individually and find out what their plans are. Some people ask for the deadline to be extended for a week or two, so they don't respond right away. Anyway, it's almost time, and I hope you guys hear good news soon!

The class isn't "official" until the first day of orientation in early July. I know for sure that at least one of my classmates and one person in the class ahead of me were both accepted in June. It's not common, but it happens.

When you fill out your FAFSA, you can list up to six schools for free. You don't have to have been accepted to submit your financial info to CCLCM or any other school. If you think you might attend a school, it's a good idea to send your info to them now. That way, your file will be all ready to go once you make your final decision. You don't want to have to be scrambling to get financial aid paperwork done at the last minute if you can avoid it.

I called them earlier today and they told me letters were sent out. I didn't make it. good luck to you all!🙁

Sorry to hear that ejk4eva🙁 . Have you received your letter already or did they tell you the decision over the phone?
Good luck wherever you end up:luck:

Sorry to hear, ejk! I'll probably be joining you soon. Do you have another good option to attend?

Good luck to everyone who is on hold, although it seems many of us were pretty doomed considering we interviewed when the class was already full. At any rate, it is a great institution and hopefully some of us still have a chance.

ejk4eva, are you sure there isn't any hope left? I mean, just because you haven't gotten a letter doesn't mean you're not on the hold list. Did they tell you your status over the phone? Maybe I'm a little confused...

yeah, no hope for me. I called them and the women told me my application is no longer considered for this year's application process. and she told me if I am applying next year and need advice in how to strengthen my application, I should call them in June. That pretty much says everything

I'm so sorry to hear that. Arg. I am trying to get in the process of preparing for the same fate...

Best of luck to you.

I thought we weren't supposed to start hearing anything until the week of May 7th...?

I guess they are finally getting around to actually rejecting people post-interview.

ejk4eva, sorry to hear that, hope you have other options as well.
yeah what's up with the may 7th date...completely threw me off...i'm debating whether i should call now?

dont fret ejk, many of us will end up in the exact same boat soon, rejected...so keep your spirits as high as possible are you accepted somewhere else?

Damn, looks like this year was viciously competitive. At least last year, a couple of sdners got in off the hold list. This year...oh well. Good luck to all still waiting to hear. There is still hope.:luck:

i decided to drop them a call, the lady told me that they are still in process of reviewing applicants on the hold list and still start notifying us starting next week.

I have somewhere to go, but other schools that I got accepted/waitlisted has no good research program. I am just disappointed cuz I felt that my interviewers at CCLCM understood that I was interested in becoming a physician investigator and they also told me that they think I have very in depth research experience. I have five years of research experience with master's degree but no paper published... I feel like it's kind of end of my research experience...

I just thought it would be much easier to become what I wanted to be if i got into cclcm. if I go to other less research intense school, I feel like I have to spend extra 2~3 years of research fellowship instead of extra year at cclcm. I am just purely disappointed cuz now I have to think whether I want to pursue research at all... 🙁

ps. I feel like I just dropped a bomb under this post. haha. I just decided to share my news so those who are waiting know what to expect. good luck to you all!!!! those who got in, I am really jealous...

I definitely wouldn't say it's the end of your research experience. Ya, CCLCM is really into research and all, but I firmly believe there A LOT of other really great opportunities in plenty of other medical schools. I do research now and work with a lot of MDs. They are still able to balance clinic with a fair share of research. There are ALWAYS opportunities after medical school to do research.

I got my rejection letter today.🙁 Good luck to the rest of you. I am just relieved that the waiting is over and I can get on with my life!

2BMD,

are u located close to cclcm (geographically)?

I'm sorry ejk4eva. 🙁 But I just want to say that if you still want to do research, you can, at any school. Most if not all med schools have research opportunities for the summer after M1, and many will also let you take an optional fifth year to do research. If you decide to do that, you could probably do your fifth year or your summer research at another institution. There are students from other schools doing research and clinical rotations here, and it seems to be a very common thing to do. You already have your MS, so you might not even need the fifth year. If you really want to do research though, don't give that up. Look for people you want to work with wherever you'll be going. I've always heard that the PI is more important than the institution anyway. Good luck with school. 🙂

Sorry 2BMD2011. 🙁 Good luck to you wherever you're going.

Rejected.

I love how I spent a healthy portion of money to fly to cleveland and interview when the class was already full....👎
