I dont know how many interview dates they had in September, or the average number of people per interview day. I have seen a number of posts here that CCOM's acceptance rate AFTER interview is like 50%, maybe a little above. This is somewhat below average for many D.O. schools. I dont know how true this is, though.
I would say take the total number who interviewed in September and take AT LEAST half of them and that is the number accepted so far, it is probably more than that though. Those of us who interviewed in October have to wait probably until late next week to find out.

They said that this years incoming class will have 200 students (up from 175 last year). So thats a lot of acceptances to give out. I haven't been able to find the total number of interviewee's though but I think the average per day is around 11 individuals. Maybe that will bring a little more hope for everyone.

Does anyone have any pointers/suggestions for a GREAT response to the question, "Why should we accept you?" I am desperate to get into medical school this year and I have been told numerous times that admissions committees are looking for a certain type of response. Can anyone verify that? I appreciate any advice! Thanks!
I was told by my pre-med advisor that it isn't too late to apply if your primary app is already processed. I would call admissions at CCOM and see what you should do to get the ball rolling.

Hey guys, I applied to CCOM and AZCOM, just got my secondaries verified at both two days ago and received an interview invite at AZCOM today, what is the expected turn around time to interview invite at CCOM and when in the year would I be scheduling interviews if I were fortunate enough to get one?

People have been saying that it's taking CCOM about 3 weeks to send interview invites. I got a complete email from CCOM on 10/19 and still haven't heard for an interview. Just like you, I heard from AZCOM right away.
I was complete at CCOM and AZCOM October 2 and I received an interview invite from AZCOM last night but still nothing from CCOM.

Did anyone who interviewed this past month call or check their status online to see if they have been accepted? I checked my MWUnet but nothing changed and I'm too scared to call :/

I am waiting couple of days before i start to worry about it...last time, they accepted people around the 8th from what it looks like...so I am going to wait (I have to keep telling myself that, or else I will be a nervous wreck)

I called the office asking if they have mailed any acceptances for the past month's interviews and i got no answer. They basically said "acceptances are always being mailed out." So more waiting....

Hey guys, I called today to check on my status, and I am accepted 🙂) They said they sent out letters recently. I Interviewed in mid October, don't remember the exact date.

Interesting. I also interviewed in October and they said everything will be done electronically. In other words, whatever the decision you will get a letter but we should find out online long before we receive a letter.
Oh well!! Here's hoping for good news in the mail this week then!!!
I just called and the lady wouldn't tell me.....all she kept saying is that the letters are being mailed out....and that's all.....here's to more waiting....

yeah mtnbiker is right, it really is luck of the draw. i called earlier this morning and the girl said that they didn't know anything and that I should keep waiting. meanwhile i called again 10 minutes ago and a very nice lady told me I was accepted.

I don't remember exactly when I was complete (too many applications), but I received my secondary 7/29, took maybe two weeks to complete it and got my interview invitation 9/17. They took longer than other schools, hope that helps.

They were giving me 11/10 (which I can't do because I'll be in NYC for my 11/9 Touro interview), so I got the next available date -- 11/30.

Oh that's great. I was worried that the dates were getting further out. My complete email came on 10/19, so hopefully in the next week or so I will hear about an interview. I would be thrilled to get it in before the end of the year.
I emailed admissions last night about my status and got a response this morning telling me I was accepted into CCOM!
Now to decide between CCOM and Nova. Will be tough.

I'm an avid reader of the forum, but first time poster. Yesterday afternoon, against my better judgment, I called over to CCOM to inquire about my status. I spoke with a friendly lady who went into my file and notified me that a letter has in fact been mailed outand thats it. Since then, I have been attempting to recall her tone, wondering if she just did not want to be the bearer of bad news. I know I should be finding out within days, but I am all consumed in wanting an answer! Could it be that they are not letting people know of rejections over the phone? Am I being ridiculous and overanalyzing things? Thanks.
The same thing happened to me when I called this morning, she said I should get a letter in the mail by Friday. I took it as... hmm, maybe I don't want to let her down on the phone either. But if you listen to the admissions recording, they really aren't supposed to let you know anything over the phone. Plus, if they are mailing you something, does that mean something more than being rejected? I dunno, but I don't think the inconsistency is fair between telling and not telling.

I just called this morning as well and I think I got a student that just wouldn't tell me anything. Just cross your fingers and hope for good news! For all the people that called and got told the good news did your application status on the CCOM website change at all?

I emailed them today and they said I was accepted. They will only tell you if you ask in writing, not over the phone. They said letters will come in the mail within the week.
As I said above I found out by email as well. It is probably a privacy issue or something and they may only tell you if you are using the email they have for you in their system. I dont know.

I just emailed them today and got a pretty quick reply. I was accepted so that's a huge sigh of relief. I interviewed on Oct 20th, so for all the people that interviewed on that date you can email them up and they'll let you know.
True, I do have connections since i live here but believe it or not that is really not factoring in to it very much. I am trying to not let tuition become a major factor either, but I was doing some math and since CCOM took away the in-state discount, it would come out to about the same if I stayed here local OR if I moved and went to Nova as an OOS student!!!

Congrats dude, CCOM is a solid school and Nova is pretty good too. I am jealous as those bastards at CCOM waitlisted me last year. Let me know if you need to know anything about Nova though. And I am from Chicago area, just like you.
