Does CCOM have a scribe service for students?
to the best of my knowledge we do not have any sort of note-taking or scribe service
Does CCOM have a scribe service for students?
hey guys, quick question, I did a search on this thread but couldn't seem to find an answer.
I applied to this school, submitted my secondary, and my status shows up as:
My rec letters are coming from my pre-med committee, the DO letter, can that be given at time of interview or post interview as well? I thought I read that somewhere,
- Needed For Application to be Complete
- Physician Recommendation Letter
- Recommendation Letter
Regards
Just got my rejection letter after submitting my secondary in early July. Oh well I guess I saw it coming :/ Best of luck to those of you still in the game!
They only notify of rejections by snail mail?
.So I sent out my secondary app in early august and I just received a rejection invite letter yesterday. Im pretty much figured that out a month ago... I just think its funny that they bothered to send a letter so late. Good thing I have an interview at other schools. With their poor response time, I would reconsider this school anyways. Im not here to bash. I justt wanted to share my story.

Sorry to hear that. What were ur stats if u don't mind sharing?

I just submitted my secondary application today. I know it is late and my stats are pretty average (3.8 science, 28P MCAT) but my dad and grandfather both went to this school and I would be the 4th generation D.O. in my family. Any guesses on my odds of getting in?
When I was at the interview (I'm 99% sure this was at CCOM) the students had like 300 pages of notes that the professor provided. Most of the students said they didn't buy any books except an anatomy atlas and maybe a couple random ones, and they just used the "book" of notes the professor provided.

26Q 3.5 cgpa 3.7 sgpa. My mcats were a little low but i didn't think they were terribly low.
This is correct.
However, there is no one taking notes in class and posting them, which is what I think of when I think of a scribe or note taking service.
And yes our note packets are huge but they are very complete
Are the note packets in-line with material you're expected to know for exams?
for 98% of questions usually yes.
some professors add things in class that are not in notes, but this is few and far between.
if you know the material in the note packets you are golden.
So with these giant notebooks, do you follow along class looking at powerpoints as the professors teach or do the professors just stand/walk around and teach?
Do students bring laptops with them to class?
Thanks!

I interviewed 10/23. Found up about acceptance online, and then like two weeks later got a letter (not sure the dates on these).
Do you remember how long after you interviewed that you found out you were accepted (through the online portal)? I'm interviewing next week on the 25th and thought maybe my timing on finding out their decision might be similar to yours?
Found out I was accepted 10-05 (my portal might have changed earlier than that, I wasn't checking it daily), interview 9-23
I am just preparing for potential interviews while waiting on my secondary apps. I was wondering if anyone has read any good books about DO's, medicine, and health care and feels they would be valuable for essays or interviews. I have purchased The DO's by Norman Gevitz. Thank you very much and congrats to all those accepted so far!
This book called "One"- I bought it at starbucks, it's a little brown book filled with inspirational quotes. Also, U.S. News medical school ranking has a few good intro pieces. Finally, that book ACOMAS releases for applicants, the one that lists all the schools, the intro pieces there are great too.
Same predicament here. It's a tough decision to make for sure.
+1
Hey All, I was just working on the secondary application questions before I received it and was wondering if there is a word or character limit. Your help is very much appreciated!
Character limit- something like 3500? I completed summer though, so I might be off, but there is a limit for sure.
How were ur extracurriculars and letters of recommendation? My mcats even lower than ur but both my cumulative and science gpa is a 3.76. Everything on my app is solid except my score. How were ur secondary essays and ur aacomas ps?

How long does it take to hear about an II from CCOM?
Uhhh... What exactly are you asking? I have no clue what "II" is.
Interview Invite.
Some people get them quickly, others wait a long time. No way of telling.

I don't understand the point of these questions. There is no way of telling how busy the Adcom's are at any given point. There is probably many variables that affect when you get an interview invite, if applicable.
Most schools have an "average" time frame of which most people have gotten interview invites. Thus the question. Get it?
i think the limit is 1500 characters per essay. atleast thats what i have written down

Hopefully we 10/25ers will get a decision on our apps by the end of this week! They generally make decisions on Friday, right?
Is it late now to be complete? I just got the complete email this morning...but I figure they would have still at least 100 seats left?

Scheduled an interview yesterday for Dec. 6th. (28P MCAT 3.87 scGPA and submitted my secondary about a week ago) Does anyone know what the interviews are like or if we're even allowed to talk about it on here?

Where are all my 10/25 interviewees ? I am starting to believe that we are the ones who will wait the longest to find out!!
10/25 all candidates will be accepted 🙂![]()
