so i just got an interview invite for a couple of weeks.. does anyone know the status of the class right now? is it worth it to spend all the money to fly out there for a day?? im just so broke right now, but i think i would like the school... sigh

I don't know the status of the class - but I would say that if they are still interviewing, and you have the school high on your list - scrape the cash together somehow and go.

I interviewed in February, and still have not heard back yet, so there is hope.

I really agree with Flopotomist... it's an awesome school and when you go and actually see for yourself the dedication of these people (staff/med students/etc.) it's encridible... Don't loose hope at all...

Like me and Flop here we haven't heard since Feb... so they are still filling their class and waitlist positions... Good LUCK! 😍

So I called two weeks ago to get my status (curiousity killing me) they said to wait 60 days or so... but since I don't like that answer (lol) has anybody else called and heard anything different?

I just called today and they said that once April interviewees are done they will try to have everyone ranked/informed of their position by May... SO in short one more month until we know anything... I hope you luck! mucho luck for everyone waiting 😍

Seems reasonable - although every time I hear a date - it passes, and another date appears in its place. Of course eventually school will start, so they will have to tell the accepted people eventually - right? Good luck! Hmm.. I wonder when the last interviews are...

me and flopotimist still haven't heard and well I interviewed feb 11th and from his previous post he did too (sometime in feb, plus I don't know of flop's sex, sorry flop). maybe my rejection was sent out looooooooong ago 😱 that was just a thought maybe I'm rejected and I don't know it 😴

Be grateful - it seems like those that have received a status have only received rejections or waitlists. Could be that we are hopefully all still in the pile being considered for acceptances. Oh, and to the poster that questioned my gender - male 😉

There were a few feb interviewee acceptances too though... that's why I'm so confused... another month if waiting... sigh... at least my obsession with SDN has died down a little so I'm not going as crazy anymore...

Look on second page of thread... OCguy... interviewed feb 18th... you actually responded to his post too =).. okay maybe not "a few" acceptances.. but I assume that one on SDN must mean a few total..

it seems like i have the ****tiest luck..norma tells me that my app in particular was reviewed by both the dean and the asst. dean, and of course, i was interviewed by the asst. dean (dr. aguilera)

she didn't have much info. to offer in terms of what was weak in my app, etc...but told me that i can write a letter to the admin. committee and ask my specific questions and they would write back (presumably) indicating why they rejected my app.

awww don't think you have the worst luck xxbruinxx... don't take it personally... medschool acceptance is a crapshoot... it's a good idea to write the letter though if you plan to reapply...

i don't know if you are still waiting for word on other med schools but things can change in a couple of months especially if you are in a waitlist... BUT if luck has it that you have to reapply apply early!

i wish you many and don't despair... things happen for a reason and it's always for the better 👍

Hmm - there is also the possibility that OCguy is pulling our leg and doesn't have an acceptance. Nobody else from the February group has heard anything yet, that user only has a total of 5 posts (all in this thread) and also claims to have acceptances at a BUNCH of other schools. Just being optimistic that the truth is that nobody from February has heard anything yet. Could be wrong though. Just a thought.

I got a call from Dr. Aguilara about my acceptance, and the form in the mail to return within 5 days. I have no reason to "pull your leg," but I don't think you should worry because the class has not been filled. I have special ties to Drew that's why I think I found out a little early.

it is approaching 2 months for me as well. My hope is that people are being given the 5 day deadline to make decisions to empty out a few spots before deciding whether to give people like us waitlist slots or (hopefully) acceptances. Hmm.. cross your fingers (although after two months of finger crossing, I think I am going to lose function of my left hand).

I interviewed Dec.2nd... on my bday!!!!!
I was put on the waiting list, but remember how the letter says that if you dont reply w/in 2 wks they will remove your app from consideration.... well, I never replied... so I assumed I had withdrawn... but then I got the news on fri/sat...
I've sent the letter turning them down...I got into my 1st choice... I really like my future school...
but I wish you guys the best of luck!!!!!

I am confused that they are taking people off of the waitlist yet there are still people that don't even have a status yet after interviewing in February. This whole process is weird.

I don't want to bug them though... everytime I talk to Norma she says.. ah I remember your name... anyone who hasn't called them several times already want to try? this wait is driving me craaaaaaaazy... Yikes - do you think it will take that long to give us a status? I mean - if we are on a waitlist, they should tell us by then, no?

OK.. here is the schedule:

Flop - will call April 24 (a month after my interview)
OhtheSilliness - will call May 1st
MDhopeful - will call May 16th (day after some movement if we are waitlisted)

Sounds like a good plan to me.

I would really like to know if we are still being considered for direct admission, or are on the waitlist and just don't know it. I just REALLY hope that our files didn't fall behind the filing cabinet - hence this urge to call them and say "is my file still physically in the correct stack somewhere?"

Seems like other people must have known that they were on the waitlist in order to make statements about coming OFF of the waitlist (eg luisito). It is rather odd that we don't know, but at least I know that there are others in a similar circumstance.
