Chicago IM Residencies

I did a search on this topic, but did not find any recent information. I was wondering what people's views are on the Chicago IM programs. Specifically, the academic programs, so U of Chicago, Northwestern, Rush, Loyola, and UIC. Which ones are best/how would you rank them? http://health.usnews.com/best-hospitals/area/chicago-il Does this have any correlation to IM, because according to this list, Rush is a better hospital than U of Chicago.

I believe the general consensus you see from the more prolific IM posters in terms of reputation is UC = NW >> Rush = Loyola = UIC.

I'll leave it to those with more experience to comment further.

Also something worth noting is that a "better" hospital does not always equal "better" training. Cleveland Clinic comes to mind in this regard. Wouldnt mind being a patient there not necessarily a resident as long as I had places to pick from that most would say are in the same league

Agreed. That's how I think of it. But even though Rush/Loyola/UIC are on the same level, I was wondering if anyone is able tease out which ones may be slightly better. Even though we tend to group them together, I'm sure they are all different and have their own strengths and weaknesses.
