Hello everyone.

I just registered for the DAT application thru ADA and paid the $320. :/ but i didn't choose many schools that I wanted to send my score to. I am planning on taking the DAT in April/May. And the guide says its $25 to send scores to school's u didnt request the first time.

Also, do I have to choose all the schools before taking the DAT's?? I figured I would take the DAT's and depending on my score decide where to apply. So pretty much, did i make a mistake and there is no way around ...now i have to pay $25 for every school that i want my score sent to? it also says on the guide have to do this before I take the DAT's? but how can that be if apps open in june thru AADSAS? am i misreading something on the guide? please help!!

yeah.. i had a same/similar question too.

I was asking people and they said only 5 schools are free and i have to pay like $25 or $35 for after 6th school.

HOwever some ppl told me that sending score are free for schools that you pick as you register for the test.

Idk who's right and wrong..
Anyone has an idea??

this last year was a bit different than the past because ADA sent the DAT scores directly to AADSAS. I picked my 5 free schools, and never added any additional schools. All of the schools I applied to received my scores from AADSAS, and I never had to pay any extra fees. I'm not sure how it will be this year, however.

According to the 2011 DAT program guide the $320 includes all schools you choose at the time of application regardless of number. Schools selected after the application time the fee is an extra $ 25/school.

In 2010 it was different, i applied to 7 schools and paid $275.

So It's better to just select all these school when doing the application initially when you're registering for the DAT....that way you'll avoid paying extra $25 on additional schools you select after you take the test. That's what I'm getting from this. What do you guys think? Am I missing something here?

yea base don this line from the pdf file "Schools selected at the time of application are included in the DAT fee regardless of the number of schools selected." I think that we can choose whatever schools we want. I'm not sure thought which I want to send them to. So should I select them all to be safe? This is super confusing lol. If you can avoiid any of the $25 fees then it would be awesome.

I didn't select all of them, but I did select a lot. I chose schools that I like, ones that I have a good chance at getting into and ones that accept a lot of oos-ers. It doesn't seem like there is any harm in choosing all of them but I didn't do it anyway.
