Does anyone know what the academic calendar is like at Sackler? Does it follow most US schools? Do we get the summer after our first year off? And do we get a winter break to visit family?

The Sackler calendar is similar to any American school; you get a break after your first year and a short one during winter. The major difference is that you get all the Jewish holidays off... there is a big break in October for Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, and Succot, and "Spring Break" is actually Pesach.

Do you get the whole ten days from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur off? Thanks.

My guess would be that we do get the time between Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur off, since we did this year. Next year though the holidays fall so that there is a full week in between, so we really won't be sure until the office puts out the schedule some time this summer.

if there is a full week between the holidays, you will NOT get off for that week. you only get off for the holiday of sukkott (october break) and for the respective days of rosh hashana and yom kippur
