So I have come to the realization that I must re-take the stinking MCAT. I am not the happiest about this choice but it is what I must do to put myself in the best position possible. Oh well, here we go!!!!!!!!! God bless.

I think it was always something I knew I had to do but didn't want to do, you know. I had a meeting with my postbacc director and some of the doc's and we were just talking about it. It was something that I have been struggling with and I think that was because I wasn't ok with my score because I feel like I can do better. I believe the score I have now can get me into the school I want to go to, but if I can increase my score by a couple of points, I can help myself even more at that school and maybe some others.

I just decided this yesterday, so I think I am going to register for the July 18th test and just do this one last time and give it everything I got!

very hard!!!

Grab a review book you life...know it cold....grab as many practice tests as possible and go over your answers carefully and learn from them

Thanks big guy. I have my princeton review books so I'm gonna use those again. I might pick up another book. Does anybody have any suggestions for other books to use? I have exam krackers for verbal.

Ive heard great things about Berkeley Review....You know who you should talk to?? Is DrizzT, He taught for Berkeley.

Sweet. That agent switcher thing worked. Can we not see our AMCAS calculated GPA until we get our transcripts verified and submit?

I am SO ready to get this stuff started. First day on my new job in two weeks!
 
Soo hyped to see AMCAS up! Finally applying and I can't believe it. Unfortunately I can't really get started until finals are done after next week... Good luck everybody!
 
Wassup everybody, just stopping thru to say wassup and to bump the thread. I hope everybody's finals are going well! I am just up chillin. I have been real lazy lately, I think it is because I am ready for my postbacc to be finished. Okie dokie, catch yall on the flip, God bless.

Neurovascular imaging in pediatrics. Can't wait.

Personal statement draft 5 seems like it could be better, but I feel like it's good enough... then a few hours later, I think I should not be "settling"... then the cycle happens anew. Lame!

yeah it is. I believe this is when schools officially let people know they have been accepted.

By the way, is Henry your last name? Becuz that is my last name and it is a GREAT name!

Its not my last name, it is my mom's maiden name and everyone always referred to my (now late) grandpa as Doc or Doc Henry, so it's from that

That sounds wicked cool. I'm spending this summer doing clinical endocrinology research on insulin resistance in a cohort of patients.

Also, let me know if you need a second pair of eyes for that PS draft (check the 2009 Readers List, you'll find my "credentials").

I am sure you have nothing to worry about, I am sure you did well. If you don't mind me asking, how did you study for it this time?
 
How fast did it take for you guys to get your transcripts in the first time? Did you fax the forms to the registrar and request from there or did you request online too?
 
I don't know about you guys, but I just got extremely nervous about this entire application cycle. It's weird because I haven't really been stressed out until just now, and it was like a flood of anxiety. It's probably because I sent my PS off to a few people and the comments I'm receiving are not as good as I had hoped (but they are EXTREMELY helpful!)

Gotta get hard to work on making a final draft of that PS next week! This cycle hasn't even begun yet and I'm already super frustrated!

Maybe I just need some sleep.... good night all!
