Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
things are great, spent the last month traveling all around Ethiopia, flew out last night and now I'm in London Heathrow waiting for my flight back to NY.

How are things dude?

Congrats to everyone who has started classes already! The reality of how soon I'm getting started is starting to sink in and getting excited but nervous.

Things about the same for me. School starts in less than a week. I think I've gotten the whole "doing nothing" thing out of my system for now.

We should do 2014 Fantasy Football this year.

:xf:

I'm down.

I promised myself not to play this year but I am already in a money league. Will do one with SDNers though. Where's JJ so that he can organize it?

🙄

But yeah, I'll do it.

med school is owning me and its week 2. it feels like its been at least 6 months lol...i knew there was a lot to know but damn its hard to judge. Also M1 seems like nothing more then undergrad classes with a splash of doctoring and anatomy added in. I can see why M1 is seen as the worst year or most uninteresting. yay for learning about myoglobin and protein folding and crap all over again.

Wowza. Keep at it man.

I knew my school was laid back- I just called the office and it's normal clothes for orientation. Woo! I also don't have to be somewhere on the first day until 1pm. Double woo! Also, I'm picking up mdog from the airport tomorrow. Triple woo!

now it looks like more and more of armstrong's teammates are coming out and said that lance was a big time doper. we all kinda always knew, but he was an american hero. guess this is it

Dang, that's pretty nice, wearing shirt/slacks while looking for my car in the garage in Miami is NOT fun 😡

I didn't think it was all that boring lol!

You do have like 100000x the attention span I do tho  Plus you probably got some sleep the night before too, I pretty much checked out after lunch, went to sleep right after I got back to my hotel and JUST woke up 😎

you could probably skip a lot of your orientation and no one important would find out

Very true, after sign in, nobody checked.

I have to wear business atire the first day and business casual the third day. All 3 days are from 8-5. The fourth day is 7-1. 🙁

orientation is pretty boring, only positive is meeting new ppl

haha agreed. some stuff like the upper classman student panel was helpful but some of the speakers were sooo boring-i really don't need a 45 minute lesson on how to submit an online course evaluation!

haha today they did a random drawing for a prize and the kid wasn't there so he didn't get it😛

my mom and dad got here today🙂 white coat ceremony tomorrow!

haha hey met...i know you were wondering about getting a Rohen's....this is what a review by upperclassmen said about it:
Rohen. Color Atlas of Anatomy: A Photographic Study of the Human Body This book is a compilation of beautiful dissections. It has image after image of professionally dissected cadavers done at various views and depths, used to highlight certain structures. While Netter is a great tool for learning what structures should look like, Rohen shows you what it actually looks like in a real cadaver. 10% of people surveyed said they used it, a small percentage said they used it to study. It’s a great book, maybe get one for your lab group, maybe gross out your friends with pictures of actual cadavers. If you get this, it will end up being a coaster for bulldog glasses more than worth the 80 dollars you spend on it. Class Factor: 2, Shelf Factor: 1

I've got my copy of SC2👍👍👍👍.

Woot! Let me know what you think of the single-player campaign storyline... I cannot wait for the Zerg installment to see what happens next.

what orientation! we had second day of classes today!

We have our second day of classes tomorrow, this is transitioning from being surreal to being just plain real. 😉

Thanks.

I bet it feels good to be back on the internet. I would die.

Haha yup, the online reporting system thing was soooo boring.

What is up in the 2014 hizzouse?

Nothing apparently.

I am now taking suggestions for new ringtones. Mulan's "I'll make a man out of you" isn't quite as catchy to me anymore. Note: rrrrrring rrrrrring is not being accepted.

Not much. Just kind of waiting until I get tired.

I vote for something either really startling or something kind of weird.

Yeah I want something that I've never heard anyone else have. Perhaps another Disney tune...

Hey, I see a lot of people lurking at the bottom.

How goes it Elijah?

Have you started classes yet, Ciello?

not bad. orientation was actually fun after the first 2 days because we stopped gettin presentations and just got to party non stop. Now that real school has started its settling in that all i will do in my life is study. Class till like 4pm then i study literally till i sleep. I take 2 hrs or so between there to eat and run but man this is rough. Anatomy is ****ing hard and raping me daily, and the amount of info they are throwing at us from histo, biochem, physio, and our other classes is just too much. I feel like maybe im over studying but man i dont see how i can keep up with the info. Theres just too much. First test next week so well see...

I had cheesecake bites on my pinkberry yogurt today. It was incredibly good.
theres no pinkberry where i am i miss it 🙁

Wow, seems like they throw a lot at y'all at once.

I think my first semester is Anatomy, Embryology, and Histology. Oh and a lot of Science and Practice of Medicine (i.e. Doctoring 101).

I was going to this awesome festival with 2 of my favorite bands but then decided not to because of money and time issues later on.

I'm starting to rethink this now (of course, once my loan check comes in) after listening to a new CD. I could either go to Atlanta (~7 hours) for Saturday during Labor Day weekend or Houston (5-6 hours) on Sunday Sep 12th.

Any thoughts? Should I go or not?

good morning stone.

man, all these orientations are making me jealous. i still have 1 more week. nothing to do but live it up.
