You know what really sucks about those? I haven't heard a peep about most of them if at all after the anatomy exam. Some of the intrinsic laryngeal muscles are important for respiratory stuff, but the others... not so much.
 
Why am I still at school and still studying?! Oh that's right, because I still have 2 days of tests left! While everyone else is enjoying their vacation, I'm wanting to slam my head through the wall.

You're almost there, Bearby! I know it feels like a never ending pit of despair... but soon it will be over. 🙂 And you will feel amazing.

Now I know why I couldn't sleep today...people are still slogging through exams. My insomnia was set off like a fire alarm foghorn....:laugh:
 
First day of Christmas break for me 🙂

Kind of started drinking at 12pm after the anatomy bellringer yesterday but no regrets

It is kinda weird not having SOMETHING to study, guess I could clean house...blahhhhh. I was actually praying for domestic duties just a short time ago...now they don't seem so glamorous😛
 
Now that final grades are in, I can actually say it:

Hey Bearby, you done yet? Is UMN really the last school? (I have one more final tomorrow.)

Minor rant: Two of our finals were actual double tests. As in, sit down and take a midterm-ish kind of exam for the last month or so of material, and then turn it in and immediately turn around and do a cumulative final. That's ... well, it makes the LIS sad.

I'm done. I crashed and burned in our neuro final yesterday, but it seems like a lot of my class did, so maybe there will be a curve. I'm just so happy to be home. Good luck on your last final.

ETA: That double test thing seems ******ed. Why do it?

Beats me - I'm just the student. 🙂 I imagine just because they view them as distinctly separate tests.

That said, *that* part isn't so bad because if you want you can get up and go take a few minutes break between them. The part that sucks is having to study for two very different tests in the same class - on the one hand you're studying very, very detailed information for the 'midterm'-like test, but you're also trying to review the entire semester's worth of material broadly for the cumulative. It's ... odd.

Anyway, radiology in T-1 hours and then onward to winter BREAK.
 
Finished my last final yesterday....so frickin' happy to be done studying! Near the end my brain was so fried I wasn't sure I was going to make it through. I just hope I passed everything and I won't know until the middle of January. Oh well on to break!!!!

In other news ... since I did not do so well in phys chem or (of all things) nutrition; I want to take one moment to say: I aced the radiology final. Rawr. (It's nice having at least ONE class you rocked. Those days of straight-As are lonnnnnng gone.)

I had the same feeling when it came to anatomy. I just couldn't get the material for the last practical no matter how much time I spent in front of that damn cadaver. I cried before and after the exam and almost cried during it when one of the TAs came over to check on me. I ended up passing the class, but I wouldn't check my grade until after my hell week was over because I was so worried it was going to suck and I was going to be distracted from my studying.

I'm having a lot of trouble getting motivated to learn neurology. Most of the lectures have not been very interesting. I'm much more inclined to study parasitology but the exam in that class is later and not worth as much as far as credits for the semester. 🙁

I burst into tears when I saw my anatomy grade, because I had passed it. LOL

....and now I'm on vacation and I kind of don't know what to do with myself. I feel like I should be learning *something*.

I forgot that we get free membership to VIN being students!!! My vet reminded me today due to my cat's abnormal signs. I am now completely obsessed with looking up info and will probably be posting on there tomorrow once I get a video of my cat doing his weird swallowing thing.

I was completely still in school mode last week - I was ready to kick butt in the spring. Motivation was there, drive was there - I was gonne KILL IT. Now I've spent this week working a couple days, horse shopping, watching movies, and I REALLY wish break was just a couple weeks longer!!!! school schmool, I have the rest of Season 3 Modern Family to watch...
 
I GOT THE ANATOMY COLORING BOOK FOR CHRISTMAS!!! And, it's officially the best thing ever. 😀
 
So I'm guilty of using anatomy terms over break. We went to Chicago to spend Christmas at my sister's, and while there, we went to the Field Museum, which has a whale exhibit right now. Needless to say, it was AWESOME, but the first-year-who-just-got-out-of-SA-anatomy in me was fascinated by the sperm whale skeletons they had on display.
 
I just had a minor heart attack. Jumped online and saw that my tuition had been paid with finanacial aid and I had $X,000 left over that would be deposited.....only "X" was about 1/2 what I would need for the remainder of the semester.....THANKFULLY, they had only credited me for my loans and not my grants. Seriously, though, there was a minute when I was trying to figure out how in the WORLD I was going to even pay my cell phone without selling a kidney. 😱

PHEW!! Hopefully, heart rate will go down soon....

Ugh. Time to get cracking. We don't actually start until next Monday but I'm already getting anxious - have work 3 days next week + catching up with a bunch of people. My days of sitting on the couch reading a book are over. bah humbug.
 
We start tomorrow. I looked at the schedule... ughhhhh. Class until 6 a few days a week, and I have Friday lab.

Good thing the schedule is only like this for 8 weeks. Not sure I could survive a whole semester of that brutality.
 
Ohio State is back to the old grind again tomorrow as well. I arrived back in Columbus at about 2 pm, dropped off the critters and all the junk I brought from home, and went shopping for groceries, cat litter, and some odds and ends. Came home and put everything away, hung up all my clothes, cleaned the living room, kitchen, bedroom, and basement. Now I'm getting ready to get stuff organized for tomorrow, pack a lunch, take a shower, and get in bed early. We have to pick up our books and note packets tomorrow between 7 and 8 am, so I'll be awake by 5:45 and out the door by 6:45. Gonna be a long day; tomorrow starts day 1 of studying and exercising every day and generally just staying caught up on life.
 
Our class starts back on the 17th, so I still have a few more thankful weeks of lounging and playing video games😀 Next semester looks rough though and there is even an extra credit hour tacked onto the schedule...blahhh
 
Kicking off the new year with endocrine physiology tomorrow morning. Yay.
