Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Not wild at all, DB. I'm a lame med student now 🙁.

Edit: ...also not getting the reference.

Ugh....part of the power in my house is out. it happens to include the bathroom light (the whole bathroom....so blow drying and everything need to be done in the hallway), and the microwave😕.

There is what looks like a fuse box in the garage, but there are no switches!!! Just holes where the switches used to be and a bunch of wires behind it. WTF? I contactd my landlord but she hasn't gotten back to me. Blah.

so today after preceptor i wasted an hour at a whole foods that didn't stock lychees because they are out of season and i almost--ALMOST--bought mangosteens to try when I saw them on the shelves instead but i didn't. Further proof we should get married.

heheh i forgot mods can see that stuff. This thread has a lot of secrets for you and gc
I would like to get married soon...you can be my sugar daddy. It will be great.

Maubs!! How you been, yo?

I've been hanging in there. Looking forward to winter break and not thinking about school for a couple of weeks. 😉 And yourself?

Same here. I'm so ready for some real time off! Feel like I should plan out every day of break so that I don't waste time doing nothing....but then again a few days of veggin' out and catching up on TV watching might not be such a bad thing.

I freaked out for a second when the alien in your avatar suddenly twitched. :scared:

Serious question- Does it still count as studying if I am physically in the library even though I've spent the majority of my time looking at the mammoth mountain trail map? Winter break please come save us!

Someone teach me genetics before my exam tomorrow. 😀

Someone teach me genetics before my exam tomorrow. 😀

Genetics summary from my prof:
  • Genetics vital to health
  • DNA is genetic material
  • DNA replication is a complex process with high fidelity
  • Transcription: DNA to RNA
  • Translation: RNA to protein

100% srs this was his closing slide.

Thanks Paul, that really helps. 🙄

<7 hours before biochem exam. On SDN procrastinatin'

Yeah that average was pretty low considering how well our class has been doing on past exams.

Sup y'all. Hope med school is good. Finished anatomy right before thxgiving. I feel like a real med student now.

Congrats. You must've had a restful holiday weekend!

Countdown until we're official 1/8th done with med school: 13 days left for us!

Our last final is on Friday morning!

We've got a biochem clinical case file exam tomorrow and a cumulative physio (excluding endocrine and neurophys) on Friday. Should be more interesting to take than our normal exams, which have varying levels of clinical-type questions.

Ours starts next Friday. Cannot get here soon enough.
+1. I have one test this Friday, then one Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They're really dragging it out for us/encouraging to cram before each test.

ETA: Our beloved main pharm professor handed out full size candy bars to everyone in the class during today's review. Sweetest guy ever.

Jebus, that's a lot. I just have a biochem block final to worry about. I guess I'll stop complaining.

Best of luck man. Sounds like you'll be going into beast mode.

I just found out that my biochem final is 70% cumulative. Crap, I don't remember that far back. 🙁

I'm studying frantically while Pandora plays Christmas music in the background. Now I have the beginnings of a finals carol stuck in my head:

"On the first day of finals, my med school gave to me an exam on anatomy..." 😛

And since I haven't posted a cute picture in far too long...

Intense.... good luck!

Damn I might or might not be interested in Pathology. I actually might consider taking a year off to do a PSF.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMM..............

Weekend plans before the final stretch to break?

Damn, I need to go to that one year.

Shadowing a pediatric critical care physician tomorrow! And, coincidentally enough, the director of UC's peds program. 😎 Other than that, just studying.

How about you?

That sounds cool. Interested in peds/CC?

Me? This weekend, I'll be grillin' up some steaks on the BBQ and cracking open some beers with the SO. Probably last time I'll be able to do so until Spring.

Other then that, I'm going to be at the library relearning Krebs for the final.

Chicklet's birthday party is on Sunday! I'm baking these tomorrow for it...

Haha well congrats/happy birthday to Lil' chicklet! I think I'm gonna need to have some of those... you know... to make sure they're safe. 😀

Yeah. Cue the typical "keeping my mind open" line, but based on my experiences thus far I think it'll be a choice for me between peds, a peds subspecialty, or EM.

Sounds like a pretty awesome weekend to me. It's cold as balls here. 🙁 Grilling definitely isn't possible.

I'll be grillin' up my brain studying mostly path with side dishes of pharm and microbio.

GC, those cupcakes look deliciously rainbow-tastic. I'm sure Chicklet will love them.

We had a recent lecture here on peds hospice/palliative care. That was depressing as hell. I am interested in hospice medicine, but peds+hospice is too damn depressing.
